COMMON NOUNS A common noun is the common name for all person, animals, places or things which are of the same kind .. (To be done in notebook) Examples : 1. “Take care of your shoes ”, said the teacher . 2. The cat at the door belongs to our neighbor .

PROPER NOUNS (To be done in notebook) A proper noun is the special name given to a person, place, animal or thing. Examples: 1. Jack knows how to play the guitar. 2.Have you been to England ? 3.Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was the man of simple living and higher thinking.

COLLECTIVE NOUNS (To be done in notebook) It is the name given to a group of people, place, animal or thing. Examples : 1.The fleet of ships reached the harbor on time. 2.I saw a pack of wolves in the woods. 3. A swarm of bees gathered around the flower. .
