Main goal of the course providing care for patients who are suffering from heart disease and helping these individuals maintain a healthy long life.
At the end of this course, the participants will be able to: To provide the Registered Nurses with the essential knowledge, skills and attitudes required to care for the cardiac patients. Develop confidence in clinical decision-making in the critical care setting. Identify critically ill patient needs and problems. Understand respiratory therapy reasons, indications, and management of patients with cardiac disease.
Cont.. Assist and integrate knowledge from nursing science, medicine and other Sciences in nursing care for cardiac ill patient. Discuss actual experience problem in the field during course. Understand the indications for, interpretation of, and risks of the common cardiovascular testing modalities: ECG, CXR, CT angio -scan, myocardial serum marker interpretation for ACS, echocardiography, cardiac catheterrization , and electrophysiologic testing. Be familiar with the post-operative care of patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting, valvular repair or replacement, and aortic aneurysm repair.
Cont… To learn the characteristic of ECG pattern for each type of cardiac rhythm and understand proper management and treatment protocols. Identify supportive device needs, indications and how to be in coronary care unit used like (IABP) to improve heart function. Understand the etiology, work-up, medical treatment, and prognostic evaluation of patients with congestive heart failure.
Introduction The Cardiac course is an integrative course covering some of the most common and most important information and disease processes related to the Cardiac and Cardiovascular system.
