4. A good model for assessment at this level is GRASPS (McTighe and Wiggins, 2005). An example using GRASPS is provide in the Enclosure on Prototype Formative and Summative Assessment Tools.

7. Performance tasks are routinely used in certain disciplines, such as visual and performing arts, physical education, and career-technology where performance is the natural focus of instruction.

8. Why is it important to conduct performance task? To engage students in meaningful learning. Gathering evidence about what students can do with their knowledge. Enable teachers to gauge student understanding and proficiency with complex processes not just measure discrete knowledge.
