INTERVIEW PURPOSE OF AN An interview is a conversation where the interviewer assesses your qualifications. It's a chance to showcase your skills, experience, and personality. It allows you to learn more about the company or job role. 01 02 03

INTERVIEWS TYPES OF In-person Interview: Traditional, face-to-face conversation. Phone Interview: Initial screening, often short, testing communication skills. Video Interview: Remote interviews using platforms like Zoom or Teams. Group Interview: Multiple candidates interviewed simultaneously to assess teamwork and leadership. Panel Interview: Multiple interviewers asking questions to gauge how you handle pressure.

SKILLS INTERVIEWING KEY

1. PREPARATION Research the company and the job role. Know the company's mission, values, and recent projects. Understand the job description and how your skills match it.

2. FIRST IMPRESSIONS Dress appropriately for the job/industry. Arrive on time. Be polite and friendly with everyone, from reception to the interviewer. Maintain good posture, eye contact, and offer a firm handshake (if applicable).

3. COMMUNICATION Speak clearly and confidently. Listen carefully to the questions before answering. Use positive and professional language. Avoid fillers like "uh" or "like." Ask clarifying questions if you don’t understand something.

4. ANSWERING QUESTIONS Use the STAR Method for behavioral questions: Situation: Describe the context. Task: Explain your role. Action: Describe the actions you took. Result: Share the outcome. Be honest and concise. Relate your answers back to the job description.

5. BODY LANGUAGE Maintain eye contact to show interest. Nod and smile to show attentiveness. Avoid crossing your arms or fidgeting.

6. HANDLING NERVES Practice common interview questions beforehand. Take deep breaths to calm yourself. It's okay to pause and collect your thoughts before answering.

7. ASKING QUESTIONS Always have questions prepared to show interest. Ask about company culture, growth opportunities, or specific responsibilities of the role.

8. FOLLOW-UP Send a thank-you email after the interview. Express gratitude and reaffirm your interest in the position.
