CHAPTER II REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE STUDY

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE STUDY In the study entitled “The Teaching Of Electricity In The K-12 Program In Batangas National” (Dr. Nerrie E. Malaluan and Mr. Marlon D. Malaluan 2017), technology and Vocational Livelihood is not as easy as some may think, since TLE teachers encounter issues and concerns which may effect their capabilities. The inability to maximize funds allotted by the government for Technical-Vocational Education and Training (TVET), lack of facilities and equipment necessary in carrying out designed tasks relative TVE areas, an in-depth focus on knowledge-based education as manifested by a growing population of teachers enrolled in post-graduate studies over those who pursue vocational training, lack of school programs that will enhance teachers’ competencies on selected TVL areas, and lack of research output that deal with assessment of competencies of TVL teachers are some of the deterrents to effective and timely TVL instruction. The aforementioned issue may eventually affect the performances of the students. The researchers, as educators in Basic Education handling Electricity courses and teaching in the College of Teacher Education offering Bachelor in Secondary Education, major in TLE find it necessary to propose measures to strengthen the teaching of Electricity. The study was undertaken to assess the teaching of Electricity in the K-12 program in Batangas National High School and issues and concerns relative to meeting quality instruction towards producing the most skilled, knowledgeable and productive graduates.

In the study entitled “Problems of Insufficient Practical Equipments: A study through Technical and Vocational Education in Bangladesh”( Md. Shahidul Islam ), it revealed that inadequate supply of instructional materials, large class sizes, inadequate training facilities, weak linkages with local industries for hands-one experience for both instructors and trainees lead to in effective and inefficient training of students while emphasis is placed on passing final examination. This inadequacy in preparation for the job market brought workplace challenges to the graduates. Recommendations made for stakeholders to complement the government’s effort in the provision of training resources; students to be encourage to purchase their own basic tools with girls given special packages; the institution of effective industrial attachment schemes that will enable students to identify and gain practical knowledge required for the work place through hands-on experience in local organizations, improvement in instructional quality through instructor training initiatives through preservice and in-service modes, and the introduction of a tool-acquisition scheme to assist students purchase and own basic tools ( DASMANI 1, 2011 ). CHAPTER III RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODOLOGY

RESEARCH DESIGN This study used a phenomenological qualitative study. A phenomenology is the study of how people give meaning to their experiences like death of their loved ones, cares for the people and friendliness of the people. Respondent Size SEX NUMBER OF RESPONDENTS PERCENTAGE Male 7 70% Female 3 30% Total 10 100% RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODOLOGY

RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODOLOGY SAMPLING PROCEDURE The sampling procedure used in this research was convenience sampling. The respondents are selected based on on the availability of the study. THE QUESTIONNAIRE OF THE STUDY The researcher used a phenomenological study about lack of equipment in EIM specialization. Where they contacted the students involved in the research survey using the given questions so they could get the information for the study.

Chapter IV RESULTS AND DISCUSSION PRESENTATION, ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION OF DATA

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION PRESENTATION, ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION OF DATA SOP1: COMMON PROBLEMS THAT ENCOUNTER OF GRADE 12 EIM STUDENTS IN THEIR LABORATORY CLASS The researcher believed that lack of equipment is one of the common problems that they encountered on their laboratory class. Due to lack of equipment, the respondents are not able to do their activities on time. It can be interpreted that school may conduct an urgent meeting about lack of equipments. Therefore, grade 12 EIM students can perform a lot of activities that they would finish on time.

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION PRESENTATION, ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION OF DATA SOP2: CAUSE OF LACK OF ELECTRICAL EQUI P MENTS IN EIM SPECIALIZATIO N The researcher believed that the possible cause of lack of electrical equipments in their EIM specialization is because of lack of budget of school. All of the respondents stated that they cannot performed some of the activities properly. It can be interpreted that the school can make a project that can help with the problems faced by the students and teachers. They can talk to the parents of the students if their children can buy their own equipments in case of lack of equipments. Therefore, they can solve the challenges that their facing.

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION PRESENTATION, ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION OF DATA SOP3: EFFECTS OF LACK OF ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENTS IN EIM SPECIALIZATION AFFECTS ACADEMICALLY The researcher believed that the students need a long time to do the activities in EIM even though the school lack of equipment but the students still learned a lot by doing the activities. It can be interpreted that teachers need to talk to each other to solve the lack of equipment and so that the students can perform and they can do the activity in EIM properly.

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION PRESENTATION, ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION OF DATA SOP4: STRATEGIES OF GRADE 12 STUDENTS TO MANAGE LACK OF ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENTS IN THEIR EIM SPECIALIZATION. ` The researcher believed that the strategies student use is to buy a tools for performing an activities. Respondents buy instead of borrowing from others so they can have their own materials. It can be interpreted that students can buy own tools to facilitates their student activities for them to finish it one time.
