While some Individuals may gamble without issue there are many who will experience negative consequences from their gambling behavior. T o gain a deeper understanding and better knowledge about the effect of gambling addiction to the academic performance of a BSBT High School Student. Moreover, this study aim to raise awareness about the risks associated with gambling affecting academic performance of a students and empower educators and parents to address these issues effectively. Background of the Study Investing the factors of gambling addiction provide a comprehensive understanding on the effect of gambling addiction to the academic performance among the Senior High School students of BSBT . Theoretical Framework The Social Learning Theory , proposed by Albert Bandura , is highly relevant to understanding gambling addiction among high school students and its impact on their academic performance. This theory posits that behavior is learned through the observation of others, particularly role models, and the outcomes of those behaviors (Bandura, 1977). In the context of gambling, students may observe peers, family members, or media portrayals engaging in gambling activities and might emulate these behaviors, especially if they perceive positive outcomes such as winning money. One of the critical gaps is to explore effective gambling prevention aimed at intimidating, including its impact on the academic performance of Senior High School Student of BSBT. This research should be able to address how gambling addiction affects academic outcome such as grade, attendance, focus and overall education attainment. 8. Statement of the Problem 1. What is the extent of gambling addiction among senior high school students at BSBT College, Inc., and how does it affect their academic performance? 2. Which academic metrics (grades, attendance, participation) are most negatively impacted by gambling addiction among these students? 3. 9. Significance of the Study This research the student would have a self awareness toward this problem. Also, this study will be gate way for student to understand more about the gambling addiction and how they will help themselves in this kind of problem . 10. Research Design (Chapter 2) In order to asses the effect of gambling addiction on the academic performance of Senior high school student should involve a mixed method approach. This would include data collection through survey to measure the effect of gambling addiction and its impact on student’s academic performance. According to (M.D Brannan 2022) Qualitative data can be gathered through interviews and focus groups to explore the impact of gambling addiction to the academic performance of students. 11. Research Participants The search for the selection of respondents is chosen according to the suggestion offered by (Brown et al. 2018). The researcher have chosen to focus on the student enrolled in BSBT COLLEGE INC. Because they have many senior high school students. To gather more data, the researchers have opted for a random sampling strategy. Which offer advantages in terms of acquiring a diverse range of perspectives. 12. Research Instrument This instrument should include both quantitative and qualitative measures. Quantitative data can be collected through surveys, which could consist of 4 Likert -scale Questions. Qualitative data can be gathered through interviews, allowing students to share personal experiences and insights into how gambling addiction affects academic performance of a students. 14. Research Procedure (Final) The researchers will make a request letter to conduct their study that was prepared. Then the researchers will make a questioner check list and ask the professor if they can conduct research during their time. Then researchers will meticulously design surveys and questionnaires to assess the effect of gambling addiction to students. They will carefully choose appropriate tools, ensuring clarity, relevance, and validity of questions. Additionally, they will follow proper sampling techniques to select participants, guaranteeing a diverse and representative sample. Throughout the process, researchers will maintain transparency, adhere to ethical standards, and analyze data with precision to draw meaningful conclusions about how gambling addiction affects the academic performance of a students.
