INTRODUCTION The present life is filled with stress, pollution, mental over work, sedentary lifestyle, improper, over and wrong utilization of sense organs, and intellectual errors resulting in increase in incidence of variety of diseases and signs of early on set of ageing.
PROBLEM STATEMENT The global prevalence of refractive errors has been estimated upto 2.3 billion.China has the highest prevalence of myopia rates in world. 400 million of it’s 1.3billion people are myopic (http://news xinhuanet.com) Allergic Rhinitis affects an estimated 20 to 40 million people in the United States alone, and the incidence is increasing; an estimated 20% of cases are Severe Allergic Rhinitis; 40% of cases are perennial rhinitis; and 40% of cases are mixed. DOSE The dose of Pratimarsha nasya is 2 drops or even one drop in each nostril, by which Doshas are vitiated to lesser extent, do not undergo further increase. A drop is the quantity of oil which drops from the index finger dipped into the oil to the first two phalanges.

PREVENTION The instillation nourishes veins, joints, ligaments, and tendons of head and neck become strengthened. Diseases of head and neck do not occur. Even though he becomes old his head does not get affected by old age. Hence Pratimarsha Nasya can prevent diseases very effectively.

ÍcÉ . 40/1** Nourishes the TarpakaKapha situated in the head The lipid soluble and volatile principles present in Anutaila reach the head through nasal mucosa by Ushna , Sukshma and Aṇupraṇavaguṇa of taila . The main function of nose is olfactory sensation and it is the root of olfactory channel ( Gandhavahadhamani ). It stimulates these channels and improves the olfactory sensation.
MODE OF ACTION The mucous membrane present in the nostrils spread to about 1-2 cm further gets in touch with olfactory nerve, amygdaloid nucleus, pyriform area, frontal cortex. The medication coming in contact with nasal mucous membrane stimulates remote areas of the brain. From the different studies ( Potiroli , E. A. et-al 1983 and Berquist et-al 1979) it is well proved that systemic absorption can happen through the mucous membrane of the nose.
CONCLUSION Pratimarsha Nasya is easy to administration and can be administered at any time in a day. Pratimarsha Nasya can be applied from birth till death.
