1. Main prepositions of place: In → dentro de The keys are in the drawer . (Las llaves están dentro del cajón.) On → sobre/encima de (en contacto) The book is on the table. (El libro está sobre la mesa.) Under → debajo de The cat is under the bed . (El gato está debajo de la cama.) Above → arriba de / por encima de (sin contacto) The lamp is above the table. (La lámpara está encima de la mesa.) Below → debajo de (nivel más bajo) The valley is below the mountains . (El valle está debajo de las montañas.)

2. 6. Next to / Beside → al lado de The bank is next to the supermarket . (El banco está al lado del supermercado.) 7. Between → entre (dos) The school is between the park and the hospital. (La escuela está entre el parque y el hospital.) 8. Among → entre (varios) She is sitting among her friends . (Ella está sentada entre sus amigos.) 9. In front of → delante de The car is in front of the house . (El carro está delante de la casa.) 10. Behind → detrás de The dog is behind the door . (El perro está detrás de la puerta.)

3. 11. Over → sobre / encima de (puede implicar movimiento o cubrir algo) There is a bridge over the river . (Hay un puente sobre el río.) 12. Across from / Opposite → frente a / en frente de The library is opposite the school . (La biblioteca está frente a la escuela.) 13. At → en (punto específico) She is waiting at the bus stop. (Ella está en la parada del bus.)

4. IN (dentro de / en un espacio cerrado o área grande) Usamos in para espacios cerrados o áreas con límites. She is in the room . (Ella está en la habitación.) They live in New York. (Ellos viven en Nueva York.) The milk is in the fridge . (La leche está en la nevera.) ON (sobre / en contacto con una superficie) Usamos on para superficies o cuando algo está apoyado sobre otra cosa. The book is on the table. (El libro está sobre la mesa.) There’s a picture on the wall . (Hay un cuadro en la pared.) She is on the bus. (Ella está en el bus → significa que va dentro, pero se usa on en transporte público grande).

5. AT (en / punto específico) Usamos at para indicar un punto concreto en el espacio o ubicación precisa. I am at the door . (Estoy en la puerta.) She is at the bus stop. (Ella está en la parada del bus.) Let’s meet at the park . (Encontrémonos en el parque → punto específico dentro de un lugar más grande.)
