IX. Parental Involvement Parental involvement refers to parents' participation in their children's education at home and school. This can take many forms, such as helping with homework, attending school events and parent-teacher conferences, participating in decision-making processes, or regularly communicating with the child's teacher.
IX. Con’t . What is parental involvement in children's education? The students feel more motivated to learn, and their grades improve. It also helps improve student behavior in the classroom. Having parents and teachers communicate more helps students feel more motivated in their classes; their self-esteem and attitudes in class improve. The benefit extends to all ages.

RA 9155 Section 1.2, also stipulates that parents and the community shall be encouraged for active involvement in the education of the child. Students whose parents have high expectations obtain better grades, perform better at school, and stay in school longer versus students whose parents have low expectations.

Family input is instrumental in making sure that the student receives appropriate support, and that necessary changes are made so they can be fully included in the classroom.
