COURSE OBJECTIVES : 2303212.CEO.1: To describe the basics of soil and its importance in Civil Engineering. 2303212.CEO.2: To establish an understanding of the fundamental concepts of mechanics for soil. 2303212.CEO.3: To provide students exposure to the systematic methods for solving geotechnical engineering related problems using soft tools. 2303212.CEO.4: To give hands-on practice for solving real life problems in geotechnical Engineering GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING (2303212) School of Civil Engineering ‹#› COURSE OUTCOMES : After successful completion of the course, students will be able to, 2303212.CO.1: classify the soil based on index properties and relevant IS codes. [L2] 2303212.CO.2: evaluate the seepage quantity using flow net. [L4] 2303212.CO.3: select suitable materials and methods for improving soil density. [L4] 2303212.CO.4: calculate induced stresses in soil at various depth. [L3] 2303212.CO.5: evaluate the stability of slope. [L4] 2303212.CO.6: calculate bearing capacity of soils with or without geo-synthetic material. [L3]
