How To write a paragraph of class 8
What is Paragraph?
Do you have any idea about it?
How many words should be in a paragraph?
Definition of Paragraph: A paragraph is a number of sentences
grouped together and relating to one topic; or a group of related
sentences that develop a single point.
Words limit for class eight
Principles of Paragraph Structure
1.The first and most important principle to be observed in
constructing a paragraph is that of unity. Just as each sentence
deals with one thought, each paragraph must deal with one topic
or ideas and with no more than one.
2.In a paragraph, the first sentence states the subject. It is the
topical sentence or key-sentence because it unlocks or opens the
subject to be dealt with in the paragraph. The body of the
paragraph consists of examples which prove the statement in the
first sentence. The final sentence sums up the whole.

3.The second principle of paragraph construction is order that is
logical sequence of thought or development of the subject. All
ideas should be connected with the leading ideas and arranged
according to their importance or order.
4.A third principle of paragraph construction is Variety; by which is
meant that, to avoid monotony, the paragraph of a composition
should be of different lengths, and not always of the same
sentence construction.
5.The two most important sentences in the paragraph are the first
and the last. The first, which should as a rule be the topical
sentence, should arouse the interest of the reader; and the last
should satisfy it. The first or topical sentence states the topic- a
fact, a statement, or proposition; the last should bring the whole
paragraph on this topic to a conclusion.
To Sum up: The essentials of good paragraph construction are – 1. Unity,
2. A good topical sentence, 3. Logical sequence of thought, 4. Variety, 5.
A full and rounded final sentence in conclusion.

Example: Write a paragraph on “Tree Plantation” 150 words
Tree plantation means planting many trees to improve the environment. Trees give us oxygen
and take in harmful gases like carbon dioxide, making the air clean and fresh. They provide
fruits, medicine, wood, and shelter for people and animals. Trees also prevent soil erosion and
floods by holding the soil firmly with their roots. Nowadays, deforestation causes many
problems such as climate change, global warming, and loss of habitats for wildlife. Planting
more trees can solve these issues by restoring ecological balance and making nature green. Tree
plantation creates shade, beautifies our surroundings, and controls air pollution. Every citizen,
especially students, should join tree plantation programs to save our earth. We can plant trees
in our schoolyards, villages, and roadsides. Governments and organizations should arrange tree-
planting campaigns regularly. Tree plantation is the best way to ensure a healthy and happy life
for present and future generations.
Tree Plantation Paragraph in 250 Words
Tree plantation refers to the process of planting new trees to restore forests and green areas.
Trees are vital for life on earth as they produce life-sustaining oxygen and absorb carbon dioxide
and other pollutants, thus purifying our air. They provide food, wood, rubber, medicine, and raw
materials for many industries. Beyond economic benefits, trees help reduce soil erosion,
prevent floods, maintain biodiversity by offering habitats for birds and animals, and control
climate change by absorbing greenhouse gases. However, due to rapid deforestation for
urbanization, agriculture, and industries, natural balance is disturbed, causing global warming
and environmental hazards. To reverse this, tree plantation is essential. It promotes ecological
balance, enhances rainfalls, and reduces the adverse effects of climate change. Tree planting
also beautifies our surroundings and offers shade and recreational spots. Governments, NGOs,
and educational institutions frequently organize tree plantation campaigns where students
actively participate. Awareness campaigns encourage everyone to plant and care for trees in
their communities. Students can plant trees around their homes, schools, and villages, helping
improve environmental conditions for themselves and future generations. Without trees, the
earth would become barren and lifeless. Therefore, tree plantation is a simple yet powerful tool
for protecting nature, combating global warming, and ensuring sustainable development. We
should all take responsibility to plant more trees whenever possible.
Tree Plantation Paragraph for Class 8
Tree plantation is the act of planting trees to improve our natural environment. Trees give us
fresh air by absorbing harmful gases, provide fruits, wood, shade, and medicine, and protect
wildlife habitats. Cutting down trees causes soil erosion, floods, climate change, and loss of
biodiversity. Planting trees helps keep balance in nature and reduces pollution. It is important

for everyone, especially students, to take part in plantation programs and take care of newly
planted trees. This will ensure a greener, healthier future for all.
Tree Plantation Paragraph for Class 9
Tree plantation is a necessary and planned activity to restore ecological balance and improve
environmental conditions. Trees absorb carbon dioxide, reducing the effects of global warming
and air pollution, while releasing oxygen vital for life. They prevent soil erosion, conserve water,
and maintain biodiversity by providing habitats for wildlife. Deforestation disrupts these
benefits, raising environmental risks. Students and communities should engage in organized
plantation campaigns, focusing on native species and timely care. Tree plantation protects
nature, sustains resources, and promotes healthy living for future generations.
T
as future leaders, must adopt tree plantation as a social responsibility. Effective afforestation is a
cost-efficient and natural way to reduce pollution, revive habitats, and ensure a livable planet
for posterity.
How to Write a Good Paragraph on Tree Plantation
When writing a paragraph, focus on one main idea with clear supporting details. Start with a
topic sentence explaining what tree plantation is. Add 3-4 sentences describing its importance—
how trees purify air, preserve biodiversity, and prevent natural disasters. Include real examples
or facts, like the role of students or government campaigns. Finish with a concluding sentence
emphasizing why we must plant more trees. Use easy words if you are in lower classes, and
technical terms or data in higher classes. Keep sentences connected logically. Always revise your
paragraph to check grammar, spelling, and coherence. Practice writing regularly to improve
clarity, flow, and details.

Grammar Part: Voice Change
1.What is voice?

2.What do you know about the topic?
3.Can you do voice change?
Voice:
Voice Change: Voice change refers to the transformation of a sentence
from one grammatical voice to another, typically between active and
passive voices. This alteration not only affects the structure of the
sentence but also influences its tone, emphasis, and clarity.
Understanding how to change the voice of a sentence is crucial for
effective communication and writing, as it allows for varying degrees
of emphasis on different elements within a sentence. Mastery of voice
change enables writers to tailor their expressions to suit the context
and purpose of their communication, ultimately enhancing the impact
and readability of their writing.
Table of Contents  show

What is voice:
Voice is the form of the verb   which indicates whether the subject does
the work or something has been done to it.
There are three kinds of voices:
1.Active Voice
2.Passive voice
3.Quasi-Passive voice
Active voice:
When the subject of a sentence is the doer or actor, the verb is in
active voice. Sentences in active voice typically follow a
straightforward and direct format, making them clear and concise.
Here are some examples:
1.The dog chased the ball.

In this sentence, “the dog” is the subject performing the
action of chasing the ball.
2.She wrote a letter to her friend.
Here, “she” is the subject who performs the action of
writing the letter.
Passive Voice:
When the subject of a sentence is acted upon, the verb is in passive
voice. It often emphasizes the receiver of the action rather than the
doer. Here are some examples:
1.The ball was chased by the dog.
In this sentence, “the ball” is the subject receiving the
action of being chased by “the dog.”
2.A letter was written to her friend.
Here, the subject is “a letter,” which receives the action of
being written.
3.Flowers were planted in the garden.
“Flowers” is the subject receiving the action of being
planted.
Active -Passive Relation:
SUBJECT VERB OBJECT
ACTIVE: Tina opened the door
PASSIVE: The door was opened by Tina

A pro tip for you to master the active voice and the passive voice is to
know the structure and formula by which they work.
Active Voice – Subject + Verb + Object
Passive Voice – Object + Verb + Subject
Rules for changing Active voice into Passive:
1. Identify the subject, verb, and object:
Understand who or what is performing the action (subject), what
action is being performed (verb), and who or what is receiving the
action (object).
Subject: The doer of the action.
Verb: The action itself.
Object: The receiver of the action.
Examples:
1.Active Voice: She bought a new car.
Passive Voice: A new car was bought by her.
2.Active Voice: They are building a new house.
Passive Voice: A new house is being built by them.
3.Active Voice: The chef prepared the delicious meal.
Passive Voice: The delicious meal was prepared by the chef.
2. Swap the Subject and Object:

The object of the active sentence becomes the subject of the passive
sentence, and the subject of the active sentence becomes the object
of the passive sentence, usually preceded by “by”.
Example:
Active Voice: The teacher explains the lesson.
Tense Active voice Passive voice
Present Indefinite Does/Do Is/Are/Am
Present Continuous Is/Am/Are Is/Am/Are + Being
Present Perfect Has / Have Has been / Have been
Present Perfect ContinuousHas / Have beenHas / Have been + Being
Past Indefinite Did Was / Were
Past Continuous was/were was/ were + being
Past Perfect had had been
Past Perfect Continuous had been had been + being
Future Indefinite Will Will be
Future Continuous Will be Will be + Being
Future Perfect Will have Will have been

Tense Active voice Passive voice
Future Perfect ContinuousWill have been Will have been + being
Passive Voice: The lesson is explained by the teacher.
3. Change the Verb to Past Participle:
The main verb is changed into the Past Participle form and it is
preceded by the correct form of the verb ‘”to be‟ in passive voice.
Example:
Active Voice: She writes a letter.
Passive Voice: A letter is written by her.
In this example, “writes” (main verb) is changed to “written” (past
participle), and it is preceded by “is” (the correct form of “to be” for
present simple tense).
4. Adjust for Tense:
