MATH CLASS DIVISIBILITY RULES FOR 2, 5 & 10 GRADE-V Sec: MANUEL L.QUEZON Eduardo L. Solano Class Adviser

Hello Section Manuel L. Quezon! Congratulations, you are now officially in Grade 5.We know that things are uncertain for this time but rest assured that we will deliver to you what you deserve to learn. Just stay focused and be sure to have fun in every learning situation. This is the first lesson in your Mathematics 5 Class. It will sharpen your mental computation and will also develop your skills in Mathematics. It is a prerequisite to our future topics like reducing a fraction to each lowest term and many more. Just have fun in learning and get ready to the real world of Mathematics.

LESSON EXEMPLAR I. Objectives: use divisibility rules for 2, 5 and 10 to find the common factors of numbers b. answer some exercises. c. work independently. II. Content: Using Divisibility Rules for 2, 5 and 10 to find the Common Factors of Numbers III. Learning Resources Teacher’s Guide Pages: Grade Five Mathematics pp.30-40 LM 21 ST Century Mathematics 5 https://www.theschoolrun.com https://youtube.be/pHzPjFpOgLs/uuUTE3Sgvcw

The following words will help you understand what we will discuss. Divisibility-refers to a number’s quality of being evenly divided by another number without a remainder or left over. Factor- is one of two or more numbers that divides a given number without a remainder. Multiple- is a number that can be divided by another number a certain number of times without a remainder.

Let me try your readiness on the topic. As you need the exercise, divide mentally as fast as you can. a. 26÷2=13 b.75÷5=15 c.50÷10=5 d.48÷2=24 e100÷10=10

I have some more to further introduce the lesson to you my dearest learners. There are 24 children in the Birthday Party. They are going to play The Boat is Sinking". When the host says ‘group yourselves into 2”, no one is eliminated. Then, the host continues the game, group yourselves into 4” again, no one is eliminated. But when she asked to group themselves into 5, four are eliminated in the group. Why is that so? 1. If she will group the remaining kids into three, How many of them will be eliminated?____________

2. How about if she will group the children into 10, how many are remaining in the game? ____________

I’m going to show you a video Presentation for further explanation and some examples will be given to help you better understand the topic. Let’s watch this

Keep in mind: a.Divisibility rules for 2, 5, and 10 The divisibility rules for 2, 5, and 10 are grouped together because they all require checking the ones digit of the whole number. How do we know that a number is divisible by 2, 5, and 10? Knowing the divisibility rules of 2, 5 and 10 will help you find the factors of a number just examining its ones digit.

a.1 Divisibility rule for 2 A number is divisible by 2 if the ones digit of the number is 2, 4, 6,8, or 0 Example1 Is 358 divisible by 2? Yes, because the ones digit, which is 8, is divisible by 2.Therefore 358 is divisible by 2 Example 2 750 is divisible by 2 since its ones digit is 0, which is an even number. a.2 Divisibility rule for 5 A number is divisible by 5 if the ones digit of the number is 0 or 5.

Example 1 Is 730 divisible by 5? Yes, because the ones digit of the number is 0.Therefore 730 is divisible by 5 Example 2 985 is divisible by 5 because its ones digit is 5 a.3 Divisibility rule for 10 A number is divisible by 10 if the ones digit of the number is 0. Example 1 Is 970 divisible by 10? Yes, because 970 has a 0 on its ones digit. Example 2 The number 74 560 is divisible by 10 because the ones digit is 0

Test yourself for divisibility rules. A. This is an oral test and you are going to answer each flashcards within 5 seconds and afterwards the answer will be given. You are going to write your answers if divisible by 2, 5 and 10. Just record your score in a sheet of paper and number it from 1-10 786 360 464 570 642 910 1008 2448 4014 6800

B. Encircle the number divisible to the first number given. 2 1.) 20 32 40 45 47 5 2.) 14 20 31 70 100 10 3.) 10 35 40 50 68 5 4.) 238 413 504 515 611 2 5.) 316 410 618 713 719

Thank you for watching and listening that’s all for now bye bye……
