2. Process Inspiration When starting my experiments I started by searching for existing character sprites from games such as Final Fantasy, Stardew Valley and Pokemon. I then found a sprite I wish to use as inspiration for my characters. I chose to use the sprite for Abby and Sebastian from Stardew Valley. These Sprites with later by used to create my first concept characters for the male and female playable characters. I also used the sprite for the companions of the cat and dog from Stardew valley.

3. Process 1 st concept Photoshop When experimenting in Photoshop I planned to edit the colours of the characters from Stardew Valley which you can see below. I did this by placing the original picture in Photoshop and they drawing around it on another layer with the pencil tool on 1 pixel size. I then filled in the inside of the drawing but changed the colour scheme. The outcome of this was good however I will hopefully challenge myself to make original and unique characters at a later stage.

4. Process 2 nd concept Photoshop I decided to make a second concept for my characters as I didn’t like the idea of using someone else’s characters. These characters below are all original characters from my own imagination. I started by drawing the detailed face sprites and recreating them in photoshop, this took a lot longer then copying someone else’s but it’s worth the time and effort. I then went on the create the full body sprites which still took a while but not as long. I created these my starting with a basic body sprite and they adding the detail to the clothes and facial features. I then went on to colour the sprites in.

5. Reflection What elements of your experiments will you include in your final product? In my final product I shall use the 2 nd concept art instead of the 1 st concept as they’re my original ideas instead of changing already existent ideas.
