Definition Punctuation is used in writing to replace the function of oral communication elements like intonation, pause, stress, facial expression or body movements that are usually used by a speaker to make his/her intention noticeable by listeners. Punctuations are symbol that are used to structure and organize writing to help emphasize certain tone of voice or meaning
Why do we need punctuation? my childhood memorize when I was little girl i have a lot of experiences and memories i like to spent my childhood in the beautiful village playing some games with my little friends like football marbles dakon congklak and many others i used to play with boys because around my house there werent too many girls my age i played with them from morning until down especially during school holidays if i do that my mom will call me go home nowww its already magrib to me so thats the reason why im being a little tomboyish

Why do we need punctuation? Punctuation allows the authors writing to be easy to read and understandable for the reader. Without punctuation, it would be difficult to understand what one person is trying to say. The meaning would be misinterpret.
Types of Punctuation
Period Rule: The primary function of a period is to signal the end of a sentence. Periods are one of three punctuation marks for the end of a sentence , You can’t put a period at the end of every complete sentence, however. Specifically, you only use a period to end declarative sentences (statements) Example: I went to the store to buy groceries.
COMMAS Rule: Use a comma to separate words or items in a list. Example: She has two dogs, three cats, one bird, and five fish in her house . Rule: Use a comma to separate a city from its state. Example: I am from East Lansing, Michigan. Rule: Use a comma to separate the day of the month from the year. Example: He was born on August 4 th , 1990. Rule: Use a comma to separate two adjectives (describing words) when the word and can be inserted between them. Example: She was a young, beautiful dog. ,
Question Mark Rule: Use a question mark only after a direct question. Example: Will you come over after school?
Exclamation Point Rule: Use the exclamation point to show emphasis or excitement. Summer is in three months! What a great game! That’s terrific!
Quotation Marks Rule: Use quotation marks to set off a direct quotation. Example:“What is your favorite color?” she asked. Rule: Periods and commas always go inside quotation marks. Example: “I don’t want to go to school today,” Alan said.
Colon Colon are used to mark major division in sentence. Rule: Use the colon after a complete sentence to introduce a list of items. Example: On my trip I will bring: clothes, a pillow, a sleeping bag, a toothbrush, and my teddy bear.
Parenthesis Rule: Use parenthesis to enclose words or figures that clarify or are used as an aside. Example: He received one hundred and fifty points (150)on his math project.
Apostrophe Rule: Use the apostrophe when combining two words. It is always placed in the spot where the letter(s) have been removed. Example: She’s (she is) only allowed candy on Friday. Rule: Use the apostrophe to show possession. Place the apostrophe before the s . Example: They found Ms. Connor’s gloves. ’
Capital Letters Capitalize the first word of every sentence Capitalize the name of specific people, place, and things. Capitalize the pronoun “I” Capitalize all adjectives derived from specific names. Russian food is very different from Mexican food. Capitalize the days of week, the month of year, and the holidays but not for the season. They celebrate Thanksgiving Day on the last Thursday of November.
