COMMUNICATION - Communication is simply the act of transferring information from one place to another.

Verbal Communication Verbal communication is using speech or spoken word to exchange information, emotions, and thoughts. Verbal communication is any communication that uses language to convey meaning. It can include oral communication, such as speaking to another person over the telephone, face-to-face discussions, interviews, debates, presentations and so on. It can also include written communication, such as letters and emails.

INTRAPERSONAL COMMUNICATION Also known as (auto-communication speech or inner speech) is communication with oneself or self-to-self communication. Example: You’re daydreaming that you are in future ever events, like picturing yourself on vacation, or achieving your personal goal.

INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION is the process of exchanging information, thoughts, or feelings between two or more people. Example: Having a conversation with a friend about your weekend plans, where you both talk and listen. Working on group project

Small Group Communication happens when a small number of people ( typically 3-12) interact to achieve a common goal or exchange ideas. It involves sharing information, discussing topics, or solving problems together in a group setting. Examples: Study Group : A group of students discussing their course material to prepare for an exam. Business Meeting : A team of employees brainstorming ideas for a new project.

Public Communication occurs when one person or a few individuals communicate with a large audience. The speaker(s) usually address the audience directly, and the communication flow is primarily one-way, though there may be limited interaction such as a Q&A session afterward. Example : Political Speech : A politician speaking at a rally or event to share their campaign promises or policies.

ADVANTAGE AND DIS-ADVANTAGE It is the most convenient mode of communicating information. It helps in conveying messages with clarity and precision. It is the most confidential medium of interaction. Verbal communication helps in easier comprehension. Instant feedback can be received. Advantage Dis-Advantage Verbal communication holds no proof of the conversation held unless it is recorded. Emotions during the conversation can twist the intended meaning of the message. Verbal communication can get lengthy and hence distort the purpose of the conversation. The messages sent across can be misinterpreted. In verbal communication, there is no going back. Everything is said and done and the person has to live with the consequences of the words spilt.

Non-verbal communication involves body language and gestures such as eye contact, nodding, hand gestures, posture etc. to transfer any message.

Oral communication is a means of conveying information through language. Oral communication is not just the ability to talk; it is the skill of delivering and receiving both oral and written messages.
