Verbs help us talk about actions, and tenses of verbs show us when these actions happen— whether they already did, are happening now , or will happen in the future . Understanding tenses helps us share our stories and ideas in a way that makes sense to others.
There are 3 simple tenses of verbs namely the past , present and future. Tenses of verbs tell us how an action relates to the flow of time. Simple tenses usually refer to a single action. In general, simple tenses express facts and situations that existed in the past, exist in the present, or will exist in the future.
