For the RCI, accreditation means a process of quality assurance , giving recognition where it is due for some clearly visible and demonstrable strategies of rehabilitation training programmes and allied services in their respective areas of disability and objectives of the institution, known to be honestly pursued and efficiently achieved by the resources currently available with a potential for continuous improvement in quality for effective growth and efficient function. Grade (A) : Outstanding Signifies that the rehabilitation training programmes and allied services meets the requirements and in the most cases exceeds the criteria . Outstanding Grade is awarded when the cumulative score exceeds 150 on a 200 point scale. Grade (B) : Excellent Signifies that the rehabilitation training programmes meets and in the most cases exceeds the criteria . Excellent Grade is awarded when the cumulative score exceeds 120 to 149 on a 200 point scale. RCI's quality grading format

Grade (C) : Very Good Signify that the training programme in the field of special education and rehabilitation meets the minimum criteria . Grade very good awarded when the cumulative score is between 100 and 119 on a 200 point scale. Cont….

Inspection of the Institution The feasibility of the Institution for grant of extension of recognition is assessed by a team of Visiting Experts nominated from the respective disability area The Institutions desirous to conduct any of the Council's approved training are also assesses about their feasibility to conduct the proposed training programme in the field of special education and rehabilitation. Surprise Inspection & Mid -Term Report The Council regularly carries out surprise inspections to monitor the quality of the approved training programme and violations identified are required to be rectified under intimation to the Council The recognized institutions are required to submit their mid-term report pertaining to the conduct of the approved training. The report contains the detailed information about the core & guest faculty, students admitted and other infrastructural facilities required in accordance with the RCI's prescribed norms.  Cont….

The persons registered with RCI shall be entitled to practice as a rehabilitation professionals/ personnel in any part of India and to recover in due course of law in respect of such practice any expenses, charges in respect of medicaments or other appliances or any fees to which he may be entitled.
