CHURCH'S FAITH IN WHO JESUS IS : People whom we experience as gifts in whose presence we sense that we are transformed are very special .

CHURCH'S FAITH IN WHO JESUS IS : We know in faith that we the new testament in the inspired word of God, narrating the struggle of the early Church to respond to Jesus question:

CHURCH'S FAITH IN WHO JESUS IS : "Who do you say that I am?" (Mt 16: 15) The evangelist and early Christians used certain titles when they preached Jesus to others .

The titles for Jesus are inspired descriptions about Him. 1.) Lord - during his public ministry , Jesus was addressed as Lord, meaning "sir" or "master" 2.) Son of God - This was used widely both by the Jews and the gentiles to refer to a man of extraordinary power or goodness. .

Jesus told Pilate, "For this I was born and for this I came in to the world, to testify to the truth ( Jn 18:37 ). 4 .) Priest - A priest is a mediator between God and people, a go-between, and a " pontifex ," or bridge builder. .

The titles for Jesus are inspired descriptions about Him. 5.) King - Jesus is king because He is divine. In fact, He is king of kings-he rules over all. 6.) Christ - This Greek titles means "anointed one" translating the Hebrew word Messiah.

THE SYMBOLS OF JESUS : Many different symbols have illustrated Christian belief about Jesus through the years.

THE SYMBOLS OF JESUS : 1.) ALPHA AND OMEGA - alpha ( α ) is the first letter while omega ( Ω ) is the last letter of the Greek alphabet. 2.) CHI RHO - X and p are the first two letters of the Greek word for Christ.

THE SYMBOLS OF JESUS : 3.) IHS - Latin for Jesus Hominum Salvator which means "Jesus, Savior of Mankind .” 4.) FISH - (.) The Greek word for fish is ( lcthus ). It is an anagram for the first letters of the Greek phrases meaning " Jesus Christ Son of the God, Savior ," as follows.
