Types of Report Card comments in KWS General Comments: home room teachers Written by HRTs Comment on students’ general behavioral aspects like socialization, self management and overall learning attitude. Must include any specific achievement students may have achieved outside academics. Must be individualized SUBJECT SPECIFIC COMMENTS: Subject teachers Written by s ubject teachers Comment on subject specific skills and achievement of students Should highlight strengths as well as areas of improvement A single comment with a few specific tweaking could work for a group of 4-5 students.
Honest but constructive A voracious reader of fiction, A surpasses herself every day in her oratorical skills which is her greatest strength. She possesses a tremendous ability of logical reasoning and putting forth her arguments very lucidly. I’ve seen her helping her friends as well on numerous occasions which reflects her down-to-her and cooperative nature . She needs to take things easily at times and not panic too much. She would also do well to take setbacks sportingly. B is a child who loves to come to school and has a good sense of humor. His basketball skills have improved by leaps and bounds as he has been putting a lot of effort into it. Well-liked by all hid friends , he is struggling a bit though in time management and self-management skills. This has also had bearing on his academics this term and is hence suggested to work on the same next term. Subject Specific comments A’s strength is his ability to critically respond to text. It needs certain amount of persuasion on teacher’s part to make him speak and present his arguments but when he does it, he does it well. He needs to work on elaborating and building up on his ideas as he has a habit of being complacent and stopping short when he can actually achieve more. He is strongly advised to read English newspaper dailies on a regular basis. A is an average student. He doesn’t show interest in taking part in class discussions.
