Figure 4.1 As indicted in table 4.1, single parenting is 36(18%), peer pressure was 64(32%), financial problem was 80(40%) and lust was 20(10%). This suggest that financial problem was the leading cause of teenage pregnancy.
CHAPTER 5 5.0 DISCUSION CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION CAUSES OF TEENAGE PREGNANCY Most of the participants 40% said the major factors contributing to teenage pregnancy was financial problem and peer pressure. This implies that, the education among peers on how to abstain from sex and financial support among teenagers were inadequate. Thus, many families could not control their children, educate and support them to prevent them enough from sexual immorality among teenagers.
The current finding of the research claim that financial problem was the leading factors of sexual immorality among teenagers
b. ii. CONCLUSION According to the results of the study, it can be concluded that financial problem among the people (teenagers) is the highest cause of teenage pregnancy. Though the period for the study was short, it does not affect the validity of the generalization of the results. Through descriptive statistics which provided a better perspective for critical decision making.
RECOMMENDATION Periodic counselling in schools and at home about contraceptives use is recommended for all teenagers for risks of unintended pregnancy. Ministry of Health. Connect NGOs and government assistance programs that can provide healthcare and food staffs to support the poor in the community.
