Who is a Prophet?
A Prophet is a man who has been selected among
men
by God to speak for Him and be His messenger.
A Prophet receives the Lord's word for mankind
including revelations, prophecies, and
commandments
Why did Allah himself not come and give the message?
•This life is a test. We cannot see Allah, whosoever
believes in Allah will go to heaven and whosoever
does not believe in Allah will go to hell.
•If Allah comes then everyone will believe. Then
there is no purpose of a test.
“It is not given to any human being that Allâh should speak to him
unless (it be) by Inspiration, or from behind a veil, or (that) He
sends a Messenger to reveal what He wills by His Leave. Verily,
He is Most High, Most Wise .”
(42:51)
•Does the teacher show all the answers in an exam or a test?
Risalah…
•Risalah is a channel of communication between Allah
and mankind
MANKIN
D
ALLA
H
•Prophets are the only bridge between MANKIND and
ALLAH
•No other source exists.
Pro
phethood
•Since the beginning of Creation Allah has sent His
Guidance through His chosen people.
•These chosen people are called Prophets
•They asked people of the time to obey and worship
Allah alone
•They taught, guided and trained the people to follow
the way of Allah.
•Prophets were human beings
•We should never refer to them as the sons of Allah
•Allah is one, He has no sons or daughters.
•It is a major sin to say that Allah has son, daughter
or partner
Message…
•The message of all Prophets is one and the same
•Like Allah is one, His message is also one.
•The message is to worship Allah alone and reject all
other false gods
•In other words, all the Prophets preached the message
of
“la ilaha illallah”
(There is no god except Allah)
Why we need Guidance??
•We human beings are weak and frail
•We have no knowledge of the future and the knowledge we
do have is limited.
•Also, we are not perfect
•With so many weakness we can hardly make any Guidance for
ourselves which can hold good for all times and all conditions
•This is the reason why Allah blessed us with Guidance through
Prophets.
Guidance through Prophets…..
•Other than Prophets, Allah has also sent books of
Guidance through some of His Prophets
“With clear signs and Books (We sent the Messengers).
And We have also sent down unto you (O Muhammad
SAW) the reminder and the advice (the Qur'ân), that
you may explain clearly to men what is sent down to
them, and that they may give thought.”
(16:44)
•Allah sent Prophets to every nation at different times
•It was necessary to send Prophets at different times to bring
forgetful human beings back to the right path.
“And verily, We have sent among every Ummah (community,
nation) a Messenger (proclaiming): "Worship Allâh (Alone), and
avoid Tâghût (all false deities, etc. i.e. do not worship Tâghût
besides Allâh)." Then of them were some whom Allâh guided and
of them were some upon whom the straying was justified. So
travel through the land and see what was the end of those who
denied (the truth).”
(16:36)
Prophets of Allah ……
•According to a saying of Prophet Muhammad
(pbuh), the number of Prophets is one hundred and
twenty four thousand (124,000).
•Allah Almighty has sent 124000 Prophets (Nabi) as
per Hadeeth reported in Musnath Ahmad.
•Allah says:
•….to every people there is a guide (13:7)
•As Muslims, we must belief in all the Prophets.
“O you who believe! Believe in Allâh, and His Messenger, and the
Book which He has sent down to His Messenger, and the
Scripture which He sent down to those before and whosoever
disbelieves in Allâh, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers,
and the Last Day, then indeed he has strayed far away.”
(4:136)
•Allah’s guidance to mankind which started from
Adam(a.s) was completed with Muhammad (pbuh).
•The Quran mentions only the 25 most prominent
names
Our Prophet and Book
•We Believe in all the Prophets but follow only Prophet
Muhammad (pbuh).
•He was the last Prophet sent for the entire mankind till the
end of this world
•We respect him from our heart. We love him more than
anyone
•"None of you becomes a believer until I am dearer to him
than
his life, his wealth and his family”
•(Bukhari)
•We believe in all the Holy Books revealed but follow only
Quran
•The Holy Quran is the last book revealed by Allah to the
entire mankind till the end of this world
•The only source of Guidance, revealed from Allah, without
any corruption existing now, is the last Book, Holy Quran and
the life of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
To Be true Muslims……
•To be true Muslims and to go to heaven we must first Love
Our Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and follow his teachings
sincerely.
“And whoever obeys Allah and the Messenger - those will be with the ones upon
whom Allah has bestowed favor of the prophets, the steadfast affirmers of truth,
the martyrs and the righteous. And excellent are those as companions.” (4:69)
Prophet said: “Anyone who dislikes my sunnah is not of me” (Bukhari and Muslim)
What about now?
•No more Prophets are going to be selected.
•The Prophethood ended with Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)
Who should guide the people now? Who will tell the wrong
followers the right path?
•After the last Prophet, it is the responsibility of His Ummah
to spread Islam.
•It is OUR duty to tell people what is correct and what is
wrong.
