CALCAREA FLUORICA Synonym: Calci Fluoridum Calcium fluoride Common Names: Fluoride of Lime Fluor-spar INTRODUCTION Calcium fluoride is found in the surface of the bones, the enamel of the teeth, the elastic fibres, in the vascular walls and the cells of the skin. Loss of its ability to unite with organic matter causes a continued dilation or relaxed condition of these fibres. If the elastic fibres of any portion of the vessels of the connective tissue or of the lymphatic system

have arrived at such a condition of relaxation, the absorption of a solid exudation in such a part cannot take place. This results in indurated glands, lumpy exudations on the surface of bone, encysted tumours, hard swellings, etc. When the elastic fibres of the blood vessels suffer a disturbanc e of the molecules of Cale. Fluor., such pathological enlargements of blood vessels take place, which make their appearance as hemorrhoidal tumors , varicose and enlarged veins and vascular tumors , and indurated glands, post-partum haemorrage , uterine displacements and weakening of abdominal walls. By supplying the lacking Calcium Fluoride the elastic fibres are again restored to their integrity, resume their power of contractility,

and functions properly. Exudations are thrown off and absorbed by the lymphatics. In general, then, the administration of Calcium Fluoride is indicated in all diseasers which can be traced, directly or indirectly, to relaxed conditions of the elastic fibres of those ailments having their seat in the substance forming the surface of the bone, enamel of the teeth, walls of the blood vessels and the cells of the epidermis. When a deficiency in this lime- salt, and consequently a deficiency of elastic fibre, occurs in connective tissue between the cerebrum and cerebellum, an abnormal process of thought occurs, causing groundless fears of financial ruin. CHARACTERISTIC INDICATIONS 1. Stony hard swelling anywhere in the body is its chief indication.

2. Dilatation, enlargement of the blood vessels, being the chief remedy to restore the contractility of the elastic fibres. Chief remedy for vascular tumours with dilated Blood vessel.Aneurism at an early stage may be reduced or kept in check by this remedy. Dilatation of the heart with palpitation. Enlargement, hypertrophy of heart. Chief remedy for varicose or enlarged veins or varicose ulcer. 3. Enamal of the teeth rough and deficient. Unnatural looseness of the teeth with or without pain, teeth become loose in their sockets. 4. If lacking in Calcium Fluoride, emotional symptoms include uncertainty and difficulty making choices. Groundless fears of financial ruin.

5. Rectum: Hemorrhoids , when bleeding. Protruding and itching piles, blind piles, accompanied with pain in back and constipation. Piles with rush of blood to the head, confined bowels, inability to expel the faeces, due to a relaxed condition of the rectum, allowing a too large accumulation of faecal matter. This condition is frequently met with after confinement, when all the pelvic muscles are relaxed. Fissure of anus, sore crack near end of bowel; should also be used locally.Fissure of the anus, fistulous ulcers, when secreting thick, yellow pus. 6. Female Sexual Organs: All displacements of the uterus require this remedy. Falling of the womb. Anteversion, retroversion, and the flexions of the uterus require this salt to tone up the contractile muscles. Dragging pains in the groin and in the lower part of the back. Pains extend to the thighs. Menses excessive, flooding, with bearing-down pains. Uterus very relaxed and flabby, or very hard, like stone. Hard lump in the breast.

7. Circulatory Organ: Varicose veins. are also a tendeney to this condition. Veins seem as if they would burst, use also a lotion of the drug. Dilation of the blood- vessels, the elastic fibres of the walls of the vessels have become relaxed; this is the chief remedy to restore their contractility. First stage of aneurism. Hypertrophy or enlargement of the heart. Irregularities of the heart's action, when due to prolapsus of uterus and other relaxing diseases. CIRCULATORY SYSTEM

8. Back and Extremities: Pain in lower part of back, weak, with dragging pains. Burning pains in the sacrum with confined bowels. Lumbago from strains. Chronic cases of lumbago; aggravation on beginning to move andamelioration by continued motion. Inflammation of knee joint, chronic synovitis. Cracking in the joints.Hard swelling on the bone surface. Gouty enlargement of the joints. Ganglia or encysted tumors at the back of the wrist. Exotoses on fingers. Osseous tumor . Swelling of elbow-joint, crepitation, showing want of synovial fluid.Varicose ulceration of the veins of the limbs; use also a lotion on cotton. Rubber bandages or elastic stockings should also be used.

9. Neck and Back: Indurated cervical glands of stony hardness. Small stony hard goitres. 10. Skin: Chapped hands or lips from cold. Skin hard, thickened and horny; Fissures or cracks in the palms of the hands; mix a quantity of the drug in vaseline , and after washing the hands rub the ointment thoroughly. Varicose ulcers of long standing have been cured by the remedy. Eczema due to venous hyperaemia; worse in damp weather, better at night. Eczema, with thickening and cracking of skin. Eczema of anus consequent to hemorrhoids .

11. Tissues: Solidified infiltrations; thus indurated glands of stony hardness. Osseous growths, especially in tarsal and carpal articulation. Knots and kernels and tumors in the female breast. Bruises on surface of bone, with hard, rough and uneven lumps, as on shin. Dropsy caused by heart disease. Swellings or indurated enlargements having their seat in the fasciae and capsular ligaments of joints or in the tendons. Indolent ulcers.. Whitlow or felons. Exudation from surface of bones, which quickly harden and assume a nodular or jagged form. 12. Sleep: Vivid dreams, with sense of impending danger; of new scenes, places, etc. 13. Modalities: Worse in damp weather and during rest, better by cold fomentation, rubbing and heat.

CLINICAL USE- Calc Fluor is useful in the following diseases/conditions when the above characteristics are present. • Boney growths, exostoses, aneurism • Bone spurs and tumors . • Induration and stony hardness of glands. • Cataracts • Scar tissue from X-rays, burns, and operations • Varicose veins, ulcer, eczema, arteriosclerosis • Hemorrhoids • Lumbag , Knee synovitis • Gouty enlargement •Joint disorders where they give way easily and dislocate • Breast lump,Goitre • Deficient enamel in teeth and bone densityhand , skin, and elsewhere • Hypertrophy and dilatation of heart •Displacements of the uterus • Uterine haemorrhage
