Introduction A Teacher as a counsellor help our student to develop a positive attitude towards all kinds of work. This can be done through pointing out the positive aspects of various occupations as well as negative negative points in all of them. In fact, this will help inculcate dignity of work and positive work valves in students.
Who is a counsellor A person trained to give guidance on personal or psychological problems.
Who is a teacher A Teacher is a person who delivers knowledge, assesses and facilities students participation in teaching and learning process.
What is a counselling Counselling is a learning oriented process which usually occurs in an interactive relationship where the counsellor expresses care and concern towards the person with a problem.
Role of teacher in terms of counseling Counseling is usually viewed as one part of guidance services. It is learning oriented process which usually occurs in an interactive relationship with the aim of helping the person learn more 1. About the Self; 2. About others. 3. About situations and events related to given issues and conditions. 4. And also to learn to put such understanding to being an effective member of the society.
Aims of counselling 1. To help students understand the self in terms of their personal ability,interest, motivation and potentials. 2. To help students gain insight into the origins And development of emotional difficulties, leading to an increased capacity to take rational control over their feelings and actions.

Conclusion Teacher playing major role in students life, to analyse the strengths and weakness of students. To formulate the guidance situation in which the student needs help like educational, vocational, personal etc.
