Impact of Print media in Education Fr. Francis Arackal said , “ Newspapers are common man’s university ”. I t is the oldest media forms that include books, newspapers, magazines, journals, newsletters, and other printed material.

Impact of Electronic Media in Education Television Television, being an audio-visual medium, brings us into contact with events in an exciting and clarifying way. Television Programme stimulate visits to the zoo, Libraries, Bookstores, Museums and other active recreational settings and educational videos can certainly serve as powerful teaching devices.

Impact of Electronic Media in Education Radio Radio is a powerful mass medium used in education for disseminating information, imparting instruction and giving entertainment . Radio has the power to bring the world to the classroom, and programme could be presented as textbooks on the air.

Impact of Electronic Media in Education Mobile Devices The advent of mobile devices have changed the learning methods of students. Students store all their notes in mobiles and study from it because it’s easy and convenient .

Impact of Internet in Education The Internet has a significant potential for providing children and youth with access to educational information, and can be compared with a huge home library. Regardless of gender, race, age, geographic location, language or any disability, internet gives an equal chance to all to progress in the field of education

ROLES IN EDUCATION It creates an authentic learning experience and strengthens critical thinking skills of students. It store information until it is needed or wanted. It present the information to the student through various senses and in many modes. It not only inform but persuades. Distribute it over distances to reach the student wherever he happens to be, instead of bringing him to the teacher.

POSITIVE IMPACT OF MEDIA IN EDUCATION Enhanced education . There are two major approaches to using media and technology in schools. First, students can learn “ from ” media and technology , and second , they can learn “with ” media and technology .

NEGATIVE IMPACT OF MEDIA IN EDUCATION Makes student dull and lazy. Encourages mass learning without quality learning. Teachers/students have become duplicators of Wikipedia. It poisons the learners with various unethical or indecent contents in print or video forms. .

Conclusion In the end we can conclude that mass media plays an extremely pivotal role in the dissemination of health education among the masses thereby creating awareness. It is also critical in promoting hygienic habits, facilitating exchange of idea of health research which make a tremendous impact on our everyday lives.
