NEWS COVERAGE AND NEW MEDIA By covering news, politics, weather, sports, entertainment, and vital events, the daily media shape the dominant cultural, social and political picture of society. Beyond the media networks, independent news sources have evolved to report on events which escape attention or underlie the major stories. They have the purpose of misleading the reader to think one way .  With the arise of new media through social media, there has been an increase in fake news. The use of Twitter, Facebook, etc. has made it easier for false or misleading articles to be seen. A major problem is the issue of unbiased articles showing up in a timeline next to fake articles.

Media, through media and  communications psychology , has helped to connect diverse people from far and near geographical location. It has also helped in the aspect of on-line or Internet businesses and other activities that have an on-line version. All media intended to affect human behavior is initiated through communication and the intended behavior is couched in psychology. Therefore, understanding media and communications psychology is fundamental in understanding the social and individual effects of media. The expanding field of media and communications psychology combines these established disciplines in a new way. SOCIAL IMPACT

  Looking a broader aspect of current media scenario the answers are ostensibly negative. India has more than 70,000 newspapers and over 690 satellite channels (more than 80 are news channels) and is the biggest newspaper market in the world – over 100 million copies sold each day. Therefore , under such a stringent competition professionalism is on stake . Media houses are looking for reporters with minimum wages which indeed ends up deprived quality of news. PRESENT SCENERIO OF MEDIA

More than journalism as profession, it has deprived to business minded occupation these days.  But it’s eminent to understand that the media is not an ordinary business that deals with commodities, it deals with ideas.
