SECTION 04 (1): DUTIES OF POLICE (18 duties)

SECTION 04 (3): DUTIES WITH RESPECT TO JUDICIARY
It shall be the duty of a police officer to lay information before a competent court and to apply for a summon, warrant, search warrant or such other legal process as may, by law, be issued against any person suspected of committing an offence. SECTION 05: EMERGENCY DUTIES
d . Emergency duties of police with regard to essential services - (1) The Home Department, may, in an emergency, by notification in the Official Gazette, declare any specified service to be an essential service to the community . (2) Upon a declaration being made under clause (1) and so long as it remains in force, it shall be the duty of every police officer to obey any lawful order given by a senior police officer in relation to the declaration.
