2. •Mizoram, a land of rolling hills located in the extreme southeastern part of
the seven north eastern states of India.
•The southern most end of the PurbachalHimalayan range is located in
Mizoram.
•The geographic location (between 21 °58' 10 24°35' N latitude and 92°15'
to 93°20' 10 93°29" E longitude and covers an area of nearly 21.087 sq.
km.) of the state is unique with the tropic of Cancer dividing the slate into
two halves and also wedged between the other two nalions(Bangladesh
and Myanmar) in south west and south east respectively.

10. Cheraw danceis a traditional cultural dance performed inMizoram,India, consisting of
mostly six to eight people holding pairs ofbamboostaves on another horizontally placed
bamboo on the ground.
The male performers then clap the bamboos rhythmically while groups of female dancers
dance in intricate steps between the beating bamboos.
It is the most famous and beautiful dance in Mizoram, and is the center of attraction during
festive occasions.
Similar dances are found in theFar Eastand in thePhilippines.
.In thePhilippinesthey have a similar dance calledTiniklingthat also uses bamboo sticks.
AGuinness World Recordwas made in 2010, when a large number of cheraw
dancers
danced together at the same time.
