SARVEPALLI RADHAKRISHNAN

. Sarvepalli Radhakrisnan was an Indian politician and statesman who served as the second president of India from 1962 – 1967.

Radhakrishnan was born in a Telugu Niyogi Brahmin family . His parents are Veeraswami and Sithamma . His primary education was at K. V. High School at Thiruttani . EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION

He joined  Voorhees College in Vello re  for his high school education . After his F.A. (First of Arts) class, he joined the Madras Christian College   at the age of 16 .  He graduated from there in 1907, and also finished his Masters from the same college . Cont …

In April 1909, he was appointed to the Department of Philosophy at the  Madras Presidency College. In 1921 he was appointed as a professor in philosophy of Mental and Moral Science at the  University of Calcutta . ACADEMIC CAREER

CONCLUSION   When Radha Krishnan became the President of India, some of his students and friends requested him to allow them to celebrate his birthday on 5 th September but he replies, “ Instead of celebrating my birthday, it would be my proud privilege if September 5 th observed as Teacher’s Day”. His remarkable journey concluded on April 16, 1975, in Chennai, marking the end of a life dedicated to education , philosophy , and nation-building . Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan passed away on April 17, 1975.
