Scope of Parasitology Parasitology is the study of parasites, their host, and the relationships between them. More elaborately, Parasitology is the scientific discipline concerned with the study of the biology of parasites and parasitic disease, including, the distribution, biochemistry, physiology, molecular biology, ecology, evolution and clinical aspects of parasites including the host response to these agents.
Scopes of Parasitology Can be explain in following headings. Academic Scope Health sector Animal Husbandry Medical Scope Agricultural Scope
Scopes of Parasitology Academic Scope Parasitology is studied as a course of study. It is studied for the completion of Academic sesion and gives knowledge about parasites to the respective students.
Scopes of Parasitology Health Sector This is an aspect which deals with parasite survival in host as well as host susceptibility. This aspect is particularly important when formulating concentrations of chemotherapeutic agents and vaccines.
Scopes of Parasitology 3. Medical Parasitology This is the science that deals with organisms living in the human body(host) and the medical significance of the host-parasite relationships. It is also concerned with the various methods of their diagnosis, treatment and finally their prevention and control.
Scopes of Parasitology 4. Animal Husbandry Parasite may cause disease on animals. Thus, they may die or become unproductive. By the knowledge of parasitology , advanced animal husbandry can be done by selecting sexually and medically fit animals
Scopes of Parasitology 5. Agricultural Scope Plant can also be host for parasites. Aphids like ectoparasites depend on plants for its survival. All major groups of plants, animals and microorganisms are susceptible to attacked by parasites. Better knowledge on the relationship of parasites with plants helps to yield better quality and quantity of crops.
