1.  REPRODUCTION IN ANIMALS

2. Reproduction is the ability of the living
organisms to produce young ones similar
to themselves.
There are two types or Animal
reproduction :
ASEXUAL Reproduction
SEXUAL Reproduction

3. 1 Reproductive Organs
Animals have reproductive organs : they can
be Male or Female;
Female reproductive organs are called
ovaries
Male reproductive organs are called
testicles
There are animals called hermaphrodites
they have both male a female organs

4. 1.- Production of Gametes
Female reproductive organs called ovaries,
produce gametes called ovules
Male reproductive organs called testicles ,
produce gametes called sperm
2.- Fertilization
Two types:
In external fertilization , the union of the
ovules and sperm occurs outside the
female reproductive organs
In internal fertilization, the union of the
ovules and sperm occurs inside the
female reproductive organs

There are three phases in sexual reproduction:

6. 3.- Development of the zygote and
embryo
There are two ways:
1 Inside an egg ( oviparous
development) . The embryo feeds
from the nutrients inside the egg.
When it is complete it breaks the egg
( called Hatching)
2 Inside the female reproductive system
(viviparous development). The
embryo feeds from the body of the
mother. When it is complete it leaves
the inside of the mother , (called
birth)
