To apply for IISMA 2024, you must (be):
An active undergraduate or vocational student, currently enrolled and registered in the
Higher Education Database (Pangkalan Data Pendidikan Tinggi – PDDIKTI), who falls under
the following criteria:
1.
Undergraduate students in their 4th or 6th semester at recognized universities in
Indonesia (Perguruan Tinggi Dalam Negeri – PTDN) under the Ministry of Education,
Culture, Research, and Technology; or
Diploma 3 students in their 4th semester and Diploma 4 students in their 4th or 6th
semester at recognized universities offering vocational programs in Indonesia
(Perguruan Tinggi Penyelenggara Pendidikan Vokasi – PTPPV) under the Ministry of
Education, Culture, Research, and Technology;
an Indonesian citizen (WNI) currently residing in Indonesia and does not have dual
citizenship;

maximum 24 years old by July 1, 2024; 3.
ELIGIBILITY
To apply for IISMA 2024, you must (be):
4. Have a cumulative GPA of minimum 3.0 (out of 4.0) proven by the latest
academic transcript;
5. Nominated by Head of Study Program/Head of Department of home
university (PTDN or PTPPV);
6. Never have taken college leave during study;
7. Not participate in other Kampus Merdeka flagship programs while
taking part in IISMA Program;
8. Not take any classes at home university during IISMA program;
9. Not have participated in more than one (1) Kampus Merdeka Flagship
Program prior to the IISMA Program;
ELIGIBILITY
To apply for IISMA 2024, you must (be):
10. Submit valid English proficiency certificate with the following minimum
scores to IISMA’s official institutional code of respective English test:
a. Undergraduate students:
TOEFL iBT – 78, IELTS – 6.0, or Duolingo English Test – 100,
b. Vocational students:
TOEFL iBT – 60, IELTS – 6.0, Duolingo English Test – 95, or TOEIC Listening
and Reading Test – 605,
11. Never have violated the rules, norms, and/or laws applied in Indonesia;
12. Adhere to the rules and regulations while participating in the IISMA program.

IELTS, the International English Language Testing
System, is designed to assess the language ability
of people who want to study or work where
English is the language of communication.
IELTS is recognised and accepted by over 10,000
organisations worldwide, including universities,
employers, professional bodies, immigration
authorities and other government agencies.

THE LEVEL OF THE TEST
IELTS is designed to assess English
language skills across a wide range of
levels. There is no such thing as a pass
or fail in IELTS. Results are reported as
band scores on a scale from 1 (the
lowest) to 9 (the highest).
TEST FORMAT
There are two modules to choose from –
Academic and General Training.
IELTS ACADEMIC
IELTS Academic is for test takers wishing
to study at undergraduate or postgraduate
levels, and for those seeking professional
registration.
IELTS GENERAL TRAINING
IELTS General Training is for test takers
wishing to migrate to an English-
speaking country (Australia, Canada,
New Zealand, UK), and for those wishing
to train or study at below degree level.

Approximately 30 minutes (plus 10 minutes’ transfer time).
QUESTIONS
There are 40 questions. A variety of question types are used, A range of native-
speaker accents is used. All standard varieties of English are accepted as
responses in all parts of the test.
TEST PARTS
There are 4 sections. Each section is heard once only.
SKILLS ASSESSED
A wide range of listening skills are assessed, including:
• understanding of main ideas
• understanding of specific factual information
• recognising opinions, attitudes and purpose of a speaker
• following the development of an argument.
MARKING
Each correct answer receives 1 mark. Scores out of 40 are converted to the IELTS
9-band scale.

There are 3 long sections with task. The total text length is 2,150-2,750 words.
Text might include non-verbal material such as diagrams, graphs or illustrations.
Texts are authentic and are sourced from books, journals and newspapers.
SKILLS ASSESSED
A wide range of reading skills are assessed, including:
reading for gist
reading for main ideas
understanding inferences and implied meaning
recognising writer’s opinions, attitudes and purpose
following the development of an argument.
MARKING
Each correct answer receives 1 mark. Scores out of 40 are converted to the IELTS
9-band scale.

QUESTIONS
There are 2 tasks. You are required to write at least 150 words for Task 1 and at
least 250 words for Task 2.
TEST PARTS
In Task 1, you are presented with a graph, table, chart or diagram and are asked
to describe, summarise or explain the information in your own words.
In Task 2, you are asked to write an essay in response to a point of view,
argument or problem
Responses to Task 1 and Task 2 should be written in an academic, semi-formal/
neutral style.
SKILLS ASSESSED & MARKING
You are assessed on your performance on each task by certificated IELTS
examiners according to the IELTS Writing test assessment criteria (Task
Achievement/Response, Coherence and Cohesion, Lexical Resource, Grammatical
Range and Accuracy)
Task 2 contributes twice as much as Task 1 to the Writing score

The Speaking test is a face-to-face conversation with a real person making similar
to a real-life situation

SKILLS ASSESSED
A wide range of speaking skills are assessed, including:
communicate opinions and information on everyday topics and common
experiences and situations
speak at length on a given topic using appropriate language and organising
ideas coherently
express and justify opinions and to analyse, discuss and speculate about issues.
MARKING
You are assessed on your performance throughout the test by certificated IELTS
examiners according to the IELTS Speaking test assessment criteria (Fluency and
Coherence, Lexical Resource, Grammatical Range and Accuracy, Pronunciation)
