12. An Introduction to Indian Himalayan Centre for Adventure and Eco-tourism (IHCAE), Chemchey , Sikkim. Located on a hill top on Chemchey Village, South Sikkim at the altitude of 6582 ft. covering the area of 21.2 acres. The institute is the first of its kind in the entire North East region. The institute was formally inaugurated on the 7 th of December 2009. IHCAE is designed to introduce and educate young people & school children to the exciting, unexplored possibilities of Nature. It also seeks to encourage the youth of the Nation to take up adventure sports as a profession. IHCAE provides high standard adventure related training courses while emphazing on instilling the concept of adventure tourism without causing any environmental degradation.

The Administrative Block “ Thalay Sagar ” houses the offices of Principal, Vice Principal, Registrar, Accounts, Training Wing, Chief Instructor and Instructor’s room. HOSTEL-“Mt. Jhonsang ”​ hostel can comfortably accommodate 60 participants at any given time.
