MEANING: 3 Illustration is a basic rhetorical mode that adds detail to a claim or thought. an example or instance that helps make something clear. an example that explains or proves something Induction:  this is the process by which we draw a general conclusion from individual instances or observations. COMPONENTS OF THE SKILL 1. Formulating Simple Examples: Simple example is one that is related to the previous knowledge of pupils which can be judged from their participation. Teacher should try to give examples from the previous knowledge of pupils in order to make the idea, concept, or principle clear and understandable to pupils. The teacher should be aware of the sources with which pupils of that particular age group, maturity level, grade level, of a particular culture or geographical region have an access.

2. Formulating examples relevant to the rule or concept: An example is said to be relevant to a concept of rule when the concept or rule can be applied to it. Relevancy of an example to the rule or concept refers to its applicability to the rule or concept which the teacher has to illustrate. Irrelevant examples not only lead to confusion, but also hinder the understanding of the rule or concept which they illustrate. 7

3. Formulating interesting examples: An example is said to be interesting if it can arose curiosity and interest in pupils and this can be judged by observing attending behavior of pupils. Examples could be interesting if they are according to the age group and maturity levels of the pupils.

4. Using appropriate media for examples: Appropriateness of media refers to its suitability to age level, grade level, maturity level and to the unit taught. It can be verbal Non-verbal. Objects. Models Pictures Diagrams, maps and Sketches Experimental Demonstration

Using Examples by Inducto -deductive Approach: In inductive approach the teacher gives a number of examples related to a concept or a rule and helps the pupil to understand the concept or to derive the rule. In deductive approach, the teacher states the concept or the rule and gives or elicits a number of examples to clarify the same.
