Textbook $199.99 new at FIU bookstore, cheaper options for used/rental. Please Note: You only need the textbook; you do not need to purchase access to any online tools. The textbook has a companion website and student resources freely available to anyone, which I will at times ask you to use throughout this course. Note: Be informed!! Optional (Extra Credit) reading: This semester, there are a set of “Biology & Ethics in Science Fiction” assignments available for you to complete as extra credit. This involves reading the 1904 science fiction novel “The Food of the Gods and How It Came to Earth” by H.G. Wells. The full novel is available for free here: https://americanliterature.com/author/hg-wells/book/the-food-of-the-gods/summary There are also print copies available at Bookshop.org or Amazon.com and other places that sell books.
