What Is a Solenoid ? A Solenoid is a coil of wire,When current runs through that Coil of wire, creates a electromagnet .
SOLENOID COIL A solenoid is a coil wound into a tightly packed helix. the term solenoid refers to a long, thin loop of wire, often wrapped around a metallic core , which produces a manetic field when an electric current is passed through it. Solenoids are important because they can create controlled magnetic fields and can be used as electromagnets
Parts Used Solonoid coil(500 cm) Crankshaft Battery(9v) Switch key CI piston(30 cm) Wodden base
Basic Function- Our project basically deals with the electromagnetic field concept which is used to produce magnetic force to run the piston and that force transferred to the connecting rod and ultimately it rotates crank shaft and that is how the engine delivers the requied power
Working of Solenoid Apply Current. Magnetic field g ets generated. Stop & plunger become attracting Magnets. Magnetic force Derived plunger to stop.
What Is Solenoid Engine ? An engine which works with the help of solenoid is called solenoid engine. It converts the magnetic energy produced by solenoid into mechanical energy. The speed of the flywheel depends on the intensity of magnetic field generated by solenoid. Hence, high voltage will result in more rpm of flywheel. It can be constructed with simple copper wires, crank, crankshaft, flywheel and a voltage source.
Solenoid Engine
Working of Solenoid Engine • Solenoid engine is a engine which works on the movement of solenoid . • The engine runs using a simple 9V (Lithium) battery and just a simple flick of the flywheel . • when we supplies the current through a coil then due to electromagnetism it generates magnetic field around that coil. • Due to that the rod inside get repell or attract based on the direction of current • solenoid engine the reciprocating motion of solenoid is converted into rotary by connecting it to crank shaft through a connecting rod
MERITS Maintenance cost is less as compared to the piston cylinder engine . Complete elimination of pollutant emission. Amount of power developed is constant . Less consumption of lubricating oil.
Demerits More amount of Charge Required Cant be used for heavy vehicles More chance for Magdnetic distortions
