2. Communicative perpose: Is to entertain the listener As media to express our feelings Teach the listener moral values that hidden in the lyrics Song is a short poem or other set of words, set to music or meant to be sung.

3. The L a nguage features of songs: Images are used to describe feelings and emotions, e.g. “the dream we were conceived in will reveal a joyful face” Rhythm is used to create the mood of the song. Experiences told sometimes use figures of speech, e.g. “see the nations turn their swords”.

4. Generic stucture of songs mostly in three parts: Verse Verse is the main part of a song that tells a story Refrain/Chorus Refrain/chorus is a part of a song that is repeated. The rhythm of this part is distincti from the verse Coda Coda is a line that close a song
