PHASE 1 : September to October 2024 (8:00 – 11:30 am) Duration: 8 weeks Topic 1: DepEd Hiring Process and Guidelines (BECED/BSNED) Topic 2: Classroom Management (BEED) Topic 3: Mental Health and Self-Management Skills (BPED) Topic 4: Personality Development (On Becoming A Teacher) – BSED Math
Topic 5: An Overview of Matatag Curriculum (BSED English) Topic 6: Contextualization, Localization, Indigenization (BTVTED) Topics 7 and 8: Lesson Planning (BSED Filipino/Social Studies/Science)
Tasks of the group in-charge: Weeks prior to your schedule, look for possible resource speaker who is knowledgeable and willing enough to discuss the topic assigned to your group. Present the names to your Special Topics instructor and wait for his/her approval. Prepare the letter of invitation to the speaker, duly signed by your ST instructor and the Dean. Prepare the venue during the event, programme , technicals , certificates, token and snacks of the guest speaker, attendance sheets, and certificates of participation to the attendees.
Requirements for Special Topics PHASE 1: Attendance and active participation during seminars Portfolio (per group/class). This contains the following: 1. Name of the activity/seminar facilitated 2. A little background about the activity 3. Copy of the Programme 4. Resource Speaker and a little background about him/her. 5. Documentation (pictures with captions), 8-10 pictures 6. Financial Statement (total amount collected and expenses) 7. Group reflections/learnings (3-4 paragraphs) *Transparent Folder, submit on or before Nov. 29, 2024
PHASE 2: April to May 2025 (once or twice a week) LET Review Sessions
Basis of Grading for Special Topics subject: 50% - Portfolio (PHASE 1) 50% - Comprehensive Exam (LET Review Classes)
