4 types of speech according to purpose

1. Informative – this of speech provides interesting and useful information to an audience like your teacher taking about earthquakes or a fellow learner presenting his/her research.

You are at risk. Allow us at risk we are facing a current situational not just in our country but in the whole world. Everyone is now suffering from this covid-19 pandemic. If you are not familiar with covid-19,Covid-19 is also known as corona virus disease 2019. It was an infectious disease cause by severe acute respiratory syndrome Corona Virus 2 or known as SARS COV2. It was first identified in December 2019 in Wuhan Hobae China. And it has resulted in an on- going worldwide pandemic. Common symptom include fever, cough, fatigue, shortest of breath and loss of smell land taste. Today I would like to share how this covid- 19 pandemic has affected our daily lives. This pandemic has affected our lives in a way that can’t spend our weekends together with our relatives who are far away from us or even gather together. But not just that. A lot of people has lost their job and a lot of people are starving. Some countries cannot afford or are struggling to provide each and every needs of its people. We can avoid this virus by watching our hands, social distancing, disinfecting things that are exposed to the public, wearing face mask, and most importantly staying at home as much as possible. COVID- 19 AWARENESS Example:

There's this one quote that had reflected in me during this pandemic." It might be stormy now, but rain doesn't last forever. "This quote is very timely. We might be struggling now but every struggles will just pass by. And right now this pandemic must be our lesson. That we must not complain our creator has given us and we must not take anything for granted. As this pandemic goes on, the only thing we can do is accept it and treat is as a new normal.

2. Demonstrative – this type of speech has a similarity with an informative speech and also teaches you on how to do or performing something. A co o king demonstration is a good example of this kind of speech which instructs the audience on how to cook a certain menu step by step .

Example: How to cook rice, the Filipino way For thousands of years, rice has been a staple food source for many Asian countries. Like in most Asian countries, the staple food in the Philippines is rice. It is most often steamed and always served with meat, fish, and vegetable dishes. Leftover rice is often fried with garlic to make "sinangag', which is usually served at breakfast together with a fried egg, cured meat, and sausages.

Today, I will teach you how to cook rice traditionally in the Philippines. We need the following: rice, water, and a pot. In cooking rice in Filipino way, we have 6 simple steps.

First, wash the rice thoroughly and check for small pebbles or rice husks.

Second, wash a second time and a third if you want to wash off some of the starches to make it a little less sticky and fluffy when cooked.

Third, put a pinch of salt of your choice for additional taste.

Fourth, measure the water. You could use a 1:1 1/2 or 1:2 rice to water ratio or use the finger-measure. In finger-measure the tip of the middle finger should be touching the rice and the water is reaching up to the second line. It's very strange right but it's very effective technique for Filipinos.

Fifth, bring the cooking pot to heat, then turn the heat down to simmer for 10 minutes or until the rice has fully absorbed the water.

And last, let it stand for a few minutes so the top surface is not too wet. Serve while still hot.

Cooking rice in Filipino way is not hard right? You just need proper measurement and well-heated temperature and of course with your love to whom you serve it. Start learning how to cook rice now so that it won't be loose, gooey or very sticky but a well-cook one.

3. Persuasive – a persuasive speech aims to persuade or convince to change the way they think or do something. An examples is a political speech delivered during election or campaign period which can make the audience laugh, like, love, want a specific change and reject or hate a policy, program, service, institution or other politicians .

Example: Topic: Students should wake up early in the morning to avoid being late.

The Morning Catch

Dear students, how often have you been late to school? Do you always miss the service or any vehicle in the morning? This just passed morning, are you annoyed because of being hurried? Did you skip your breakfasts because of the fast-running time?

Good afternoon dass! I know most of you already know me but let me introduce for once again myself. My name is Aaron F. San Jose, a second year Bachelor in Secondary Education, major in Biological Science student. A lot of students and for all I know, some of you are experiencing this kind of dilemma every morning and it might lead to your bad mood, stress, and might even your academic performances. It is very exasperating to discern, yet we got only one solution with that problem.

One of the biggest reasons why we become late is that we are lazy enough of getting up early in the morning. True, isn't it? In able for you to not be late, you must set your alarm an hour or two earlier your school call time. With this step, I assure you, you will have a long time of preparation before going to school and won't miss a ride anymore. This will be very helpful in avoiding morning catches

Being late might give you bad temper and might affect your academic performance for the reason that you will no longer participate in the class and just start your whole day thinking you were late.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day because it will serve as our energy source. But if you missed it because of being late, it may harm your health and in some case, you will become less active in class participation.

Classmates, I know we really love to sleep and our bed really loves us, too! But we should always remember our responsibilities in school most especially during the chaotic morning weekdays. This is just a simple urging for us to keep away ourselves from being tardy. If you follow this, instantly, you will no longer be late. Promise!

4. Entertaining - this type of speech give as an intermission number in a program, a kind of after dinner talk and a toastmasters speech. The speaker provides pleasure and enjoyment that makes the audience laugh or identify with anecdotal information.

Example: Topic: How I control my laugh at a serious moment.

Good morning, everyone. I am Elaizah Nina Estrada Melo. Today, I'm going to share with all of you my Entertainment Speech and my topic is "How I solved my shyness while in class or in a serious moment".

I have encountered this many times but I am very grateful because I got through it all. But this is really the only thing that makes me hold back laughter because the situation is not really supposed to laugh because they are all serious that moment.

In school, the real fear is the teachers. Maybe all students are afraid of the teacher especially when they are not close.

That day, my classmate is sharing her story in life and she was going to cry. My focus is not on her that time and I was thinking something funny that's why I laughed. I suddenly laughed at that time and then almost all my classmates looked at me and of course our teacher.I don't know what to do that time because they're looking at me. So that time, I apologized to our teacher and to my classmates because I was too ashamed of what I had done. So, if you experienced this one also, apir! HAHAHAHAHA listen to your teacher while in class. Lesson Learned! HAHAHAHAНА.
