■Development of community health facilities
on St Mary’s site originally agreed as part of
the Capacity map for Portsmouth and South
East Hampshire to support the PFI build at
Queen Alexandra Hospital
■Strategic Outline Case for the development
produced in December 2001
■Secured National funding for £17.1m
■Outline Business Case approved by the PCT
in May 2008 and the SHA in August 2008
■Full Business Case approved by the PCT
November 2009
■SHA/DoH approval of revised FBC confirmed
March 2010

■The rear of the site continues to be owned by
Portsmouth Hospital Trust (PHT)
It is PHT’s intention to:
■Demolish the existing buildings from
Blendworth
■Redevelop as a housing development with
some employment use
■Planning permission to proceed has been
granted
