Lesson Plan Lesson Plan actually is a plan of action. Lesson Plan is a teacher’s mental and emotional visualization of class room activities. A lesson plan is a blue print, a guide map, a creative piece of work and the chart for class room teaching in one period of 45 minutes duration. It is a systematic approach for the development of concepts, skills, understanding etc.

Characteristics of an Effective Lesson Plan Include clearly mentioned instructional objectives. Include motivational techniques. Include evaluation techniques. Include student centred activities Anticipate pupil’s difficulties in question Include relevant home assignment Provide opportunity to practice skills Provide proper time allocation Provide for individual differences

Types of Lesson Plan The lesson plans may be classified into three categories on the basis of learning objectives

Types of Lesson plan Lesson plan related to knowledge: - knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis and synthesis objectives are achieved by this plan; the main emphasis is given on presentation of content Lesson plans related to Appreciation: - These types of lessons are prepared for developing attitudes, feeling and values among students. Lesson plans related to skills: - This skill lessons are designed to achieve the psychomotor learning objectives. It includes skills of reading, writing and speaking.
