What is SulphurCycle ?

Itisabundantinthesoilinprotiensand,throughaseriesof
microbialtransformations,endsupassulphatesusablebyplants.

Thesulphurisreleasedbytheweatheringofrocks.
Sulphurcomesincontactwithairandisconvertedintosulphates.
Sulphatesaretakenupbyplantsandmicrobesandareconverted
intoorganicforms.
Theorganicformofsulphuristhenconsumedbytheanimals
throughtheirfoodandthussulphurmovesinthefoodchain.
Whentheanimalsdiesomeofthesulphurisreleasedby
decompositionwhilesomeenterthetissuesofmicrobes.
Thereareseveralnaturalsourcessuchasvolcaniceruptions,
evaporationofwater,andbreakdownoforganicmatterinswamps,
thatreleasesulphurdirectlyintotheatmosphere.Thissulphurfalls
onearthwithrainfall.
