Summer Vacation Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of "Summer Vacation" might initially seem like a breeze, conjuring
images of relaxation, sun-soaked days, and carefree moments. However, as one delves into the
task, it becomes evident that capturing the essence of a summer break requires more than just
recounting activities.
The difficulty lies in striking a balance between personal experiences and universal appeal. It's
not just about narrating events but crafting a narrative that resonates with readers, evoking
nostalgia or a sense of vicarious enjoyment. Ensuring the essay is engaging and relatable can be
challenging, as everyone's summer vacation is unique.
Moreover, there's the challenge of avoiding clichГ©s. Describing the typical beach day or family
trip requires creativity to stand out from countless other essays covering similar themes. It's a
struggle to infuse originality while still embracing the quintessential elements of a summer
vacation narrative.
Maintaining coherence throughout the essay is another hurdle. As memories and experiences
flow, the risk of losing the reader's interest increases. Crafting a smooth and compelling storyline
demands careful organization and a keen awareness of the essay's overarching message.
Beyond these challenges, there's the constant need to elevate the writing. Adhering to proper
grammar, syntax, and vocabulary is essential, but injecting the essay with a unique voice and
tone that mirrors one's personality is equally vital.
In essence, the difficulty of writing a "Summer Vacation" essay lies in transforming personal
memories into a captivating narrative that resonates universally. It's a delicate dance between
specificity and relatability, all while avoiding the pitfalls of clichГ©s and maintaining a high
standard of writing.
And for those who find themselves grappling with these challenges, there's HelpWriting.net

Indian Response To The Us Rebalancing Strategy
The Indian Response to the US Rebalancing Strategy
India has been considered as a crucial factor in the US Rebalancing Strategy. On a
visit to India, former US Secretary of Defence Leon Panetta referred to India as the
lynchpin of the US Strategy in Asia. Yet another US government report stated that,
The United States is also investing in a long term strategic partnership with India to
support its ability to serve as a regional economic anchor and provider of security in
the broader Indian Ocean region. With the US pushing for closer ties with the country,
India on the other hand has been quite observant of the changing geopolitical scenario
in its surrounding and has taken a pacifist approach so far. India s former Defence
Minister A. K Antony, in response to Panetta, highlighted the necessity to enhance
the multilateral security architecture in the Asia Pacific, but at the same time also
emphasised that the necessary steps should be taken at a pace comfortable to all the
countries concerned .
In order to further understand India s stance on the issue, it would be interesting to
observe and analyze the following table in which four foreign policy approaches
were estimated with respect to the Indian response within the country towards the US
Rebalancing Strategy. They are laid in the table below along with various other
factors that were taken into consideration :

Sas Institute Case Study Answers
1. Introduction
The SAS institute was founded in 1976 by Dr. James Goodnight and Dr. John Sall,
both professors at North Carolina State University, SAS Institute, Inc. provides
business intelligence (BI) software and services at more than 40,000 customer
sites worldwide, including 90 percent of the Fortune 500 companies. SAS, which
stands for statistical analysis software, is headquartered in Cary, North Carolina. It
is the world s largest privately held software company, having over 100 offices
worldwide with approximately 10,000 employees. With an unbroken record of
growth and profitability, SAS had revenue of $1.18 billion in 2002 and invested
about 25 percent of revenues into research and development. SAS has been widely ...

Goodnight and the other SAS leaders expect nothing less than superior
performance from the employees, and they continue to get it. The employees are
loyal and committed to the company, and they are productive; so loyal, committed,
and productive, in fact, that only a small percentage of the employees ever leave
once they have been hired at SAS. They have the employees who don t want to
leave the work even if they get little more money somewhere else as they want the
peace they get in SAS. (Drucker 1974, Chaffee 1985)
3. Critically evaluate how SAS s have ethically played its role in providing for the
needs of its employees and how its human resource strategy policies, and practices
affect the company s ability to attract, develop, and maintain a quality workforce.
This Corporate Social Responsibility Report reflects the core values and
achievements of how SAS does business as an employer, a software provider and a
corporate citizen. The guiding principles that launched the company in 1976 are still
the foundation of the enterprise. The company strives to be approachable, so
customers recognize SAS as a reliable partner and not just a vendor. It is about being
customer driven, engaging with customers to find out what they want and helping to
solve their problems. It requires swiftness and agility, to adapt to changing technology
and global conditions. It relies on the kind

Lost Our Homes Pet Foundation (LOH)
The name of the community that I researched is Lost Our Homes Pet
Foundation(LOH). It is located on 2323 South Hardy Drive in Tempe, Arizona.
L.O.H. was founded in 2008 when the founder, Jodi Polanski, wanted to have a
world in which all pets have loving homes and are treated with respect. Now, that is
the vision and purpose of L.O.H. The mission of L.O.H. is to ensure that all pets
have loving homes when families face major life changes and have to give up their
pets. L.O.H. also is striving to have no pets living on the streets. They are making
as much effort as they can to rescue any stray animals they find. L.O.H. will give
medical care and shots to those animals if needed. When the cat/dog is back to
health, L.O.H. will put the cat/dog in a room with other cats/dogs in the same age
group. The rooms are almost always clean and well kept by volunteers.
IMPORTANT: Lost Our Homes Pet Foundation is a non kill animal shelter. It does
not and will never kill any animals even if there is a overpopulation.... Show more

Gears and Simple Machines
Gears are part of one of the six simple machines, the wheel and axle. Simple
machines, such as the wheel and axle, are mechanisms created to make difficult
work much easier. The six simple machines consist of the inclined plane, screw,
lever, pulley, wedge, and wheel and axle. Gears can be found in many household
items today. For example, watches, bicycles, and pencil sharpeners. The most
common object, in which gears are found, is the car. The car s steering wheel is a
simple machine, called the wheel and axle. Gears however, are not found in the
steering wheel, but are located in the engine. The gears are then controlled by the
gear shift, which spins the gears around, causing the car to move or brake. Gears
are circular objects that have teeth all around the outer rim, or just a wheel with
teeth. When in movement, if a singular gear s teeth fit into a second gear, it will
cause that second gear to rotate in the opposite direction of the first gear. This can
then be continued by adding more gears, which in turn create a system of gears. A
gear system can be used to function a machine, such as car s gear shift. This system is
called a gear train. Whichever gear starts the gear train by rotating is called the
driver. The final gear on the opposite end of the train is called the driven gear.
Meshed Gears is a gear train of five or more gears. There are many other gear types
such as Spur gears, bevel gears, worm gears, rack gears, and internal gears. All these
gears are

Albert Einstein Essays
Albert Einstein Albert Einstein was born on March 14, 1879 in Ulm. He was raised
in Munich, where his family owned a small electrical machinery shop. Though he
did not even begin to speak until he was three, he showed a great curiosity of nature
and even taught himself Euclidean geometry at the age of 12. Albert despised school
life, thinking it dull and boring, so when his family decided to move to Milan, Italy,
Einstein took the opportunity to drop outof school, only 15 at the time. After a year
with his parents in Milan it became clear to him that he would have to make his own
way in the world. He finished secondary schoolin Arrau, Switzerland, and then
enrolled at the SwissNational Polytechnic in Zurich. School there was no... Show

Einstein had been considering the problem for over ten years when he realized
that lay not in a theory of matter but one of measurement. The crux of his special
theory or relativity was that all measurements of time and space depend on
judgments as to whether two distant events occur at the same time (the relative
view of the observer). This realization led him to develop a theory based on two
major points. First, the principle of relativity, that physical laws are the same in all
inertial reference systems. Second the principle of the invariance of the speed of
light, that the speed of light in a vacuum will always remain constant. Using these
two postulates, he was able to provide a correct description of physical events in
different inertial frames of reference, and did not have to make assumptions about the
nature of matter or radiation, nor how they interact. Not many understood Einstein s
argument when it was first offered. This was not because the work was too
mathematically complex or technically obscure, but because of Einstein s beliefs
about the nature of good theories and the relationship between experiment and theory.
A good theory, in his opinion, was one where the minimum number of postulates were
used to account for the physical evidence. He did not believe that theories could be
logically connected to experiment, but that scientific theories were

Effects Of The Seven Sisters Actions Outlined
The key feauture of the seven sisters actions outlined above was their attempts to
reduce their tax liabilities, in a time where the people of the Middle East were calling
for nationalisation and equity participation by the governments of the oil producing
countires.
This lead to the creation of the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries
(OPEC) in Baghdad, 1960. Their initial aim was to ensure the security of their tax
revenues from the International Oil Companies. This can be seen as the creation of a
cartel in order to counter the oligoponistic power of buyers.
In the previous time periods discussed its hard to formally prove that structural
change has taken place in a quantative way. The oil shocks of 1973 and 1979
provide our best opportunity to definitely prove structural change has taken place in
the time series data of oil prices. This is where we will start before moving onto
modeling the behaviour of OPEC during this time and discussing their role in the
shocks.
Using an Auto Regressive model based on Pindyck (1999) on data from 1885
1968, taken from the BP statistical review, we can attempt to explain the price of oil
through its own lagged price. We report an R squared value of 0.82 (suggesting
82% of the data is explained in the model), whilst the drawbacks of reporting R
sqaured values are well established this is still a useful proxy for determining the
success of the model. It should be noted that all data values are logged to detrend the
data

Baroque Music Vs Classical Music
There are many ways to distinguish compositions. They can be grouped in different
time periods and genres. For us to know what time period to associate them with, we
must be able to recognize the many characteristics of the different time periods.
There are many time periods of music; two of these musical periods were Baroque
and Classical. Each time period has its own differences. The Baroque period began in
the year 1650 and lasted 150 years. Baroque musichad much ornamentation. One
example of this is George Frederic Handel s oratorio Messiah, No. 18: Rejoice
Greatly . This oratorio has three parts Christmas, Easter, and Redemption. No. 18
Rejoice Greatly is part of the Christmas section. It has a form of da capo aria A B A
. The second A includes a great deal of embellishment. In No. 18 there is a soprano
vocal solo and orchestra. Although the Baroque time period embellishes musicand is
very ornamental, the music of the Classical time period is very simple and is of
proportion and balance.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The term classic means timeless beauty or refers to something of highest quality.
The music of the Classical period certainly lived up to this definition. New forms
were developed in this time period. An example of this is Wolfgang Amadeus
Mozart s Eine kleine Nachtmusik (A Little Night Music), K. 525 Movement I. This
piece has a form of sonata allegro. It is a form that the Classical time period
established. This piece is fast because it is movement I. It is also in duple meter. It
uses a rocket theme and also contains a string orchestra. It has sudden dynamic
changes and a homophonic texture. Along with these little differences, the Baroque
and Classical time periods have some greater differences and

The And Talent Of Fame
There are celebrities in the world that stand out for many reasons that range from
beauty and talent to just memorable actions. Fame comes to those that in many
ways, earn it. They work day and night for it, to be known for their personal
satisfaction. Some however, don t work to make only himself or herself happy.
Some work not to be known and to have fame, but to make a difference in the world
around them. They stand out for ways they have made the world better through their
own personal gain. Paul Walkerwas one of these few that stands out to many in the
world. Paul William Walker was born in 1973 in Glendale, California to a mother
that worked in modeling and a father that was a sewer contractor and a fighter.

Dominic Toretto, the main antagonist played by actor Vin Diesel, go and takes the
heat for allowing him to go free. This film was the blockbuster slam that allowed
for Paul s career to take off. What was suppose to be a low pay off, low budget film
turned into a huge hit for many younger males around the world. Not longer after,
Paul was featured in 2 Fast 2 Furious, a sequel to the first film that was just as big if
not bigger than the first film s ratings. After the second film though, Paul decided
to step away from the film series to explore new areas of film, such as his movie
Into the Blue, that allowed for Paul to express his love for the ocean through his
acting. During this time period, Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift was released
featuring its own spin off in a new country. A few years later, Fast and Furious, the
fourth movie of the series was announced bringing back not only Vin Diesel but
Paul also. This reinstatement opened up for more sequels such as Fast Five and Fast
and the Furious 6. During filming for Fast and the Furious 7 though, Paul and good
friend Rhodas were leaving a charitable event in Santa Clarita, California when
Rhodas, accelerating around 100 mph, lost control of the car and sent them off the
curb into a tree, a light post and eventually into another tree causing the car to
combust into flames and killing both passengers of the vehicle. This

Minority Report Technology is progressing every day. We have come so far in the

K. Dick did in 1956 when he wrote the short story Minority Report, which was later

Summary Of Jarret Hardin Lifeboat Ethics
Garret Hardin is an ecologist who has written numerous articles, including a
metaphorical/argumentative writing piece titled Lifeboat Ethics: The Case Against
Helping the Poor . Hardin uses Lifeboat Ethics to capture the reader s attention on
the issues we are dealing with today to either saving the economy, saving yourself,
or saving others. He argues the idea against rich nations helping poor nations, giving
his audience a visual of how the economy would be affected if the rich would take an
unlimited number of poor into the lifeboat. He also ties his argument in ethics
exceeding the capacity with the overpopulated world. Hardin argues the negative
consequences of helping the poor effectively using logical reasoning and moral
ethics; however, he does not use a sufficient amount of evidence to support his main
points.
One way in which Hardin discusses logical reasoning in his article is by viewing
overpopulation as one of the main global issues. This issue can cause an economic
decline in the stock market as well as an increase in unemployment. Within Hardin s
argument I noticed how his insight on saving the economy is similar to Adam Smith
s laissez faire theory, which proposes the idea of the government ... Show more

This stage relates to the ethical decision lifeboat passengers are making according
to their self s needs and occasionally others. Similarly, in Moral Inquiry Ronald
White states three theories addressing the what, why and where of the good and
reasoning behind the question (280). Two out of the three theories, teleological and
deontological, focus on decision making between consequences as well as morality
based ethics. Given these points, the logic against helping the poor can affect people
s moral ethical behaviors and cause an intense decision to be

In early December, the accounting team were scheduled to have a luncheon at Ibby s.
Two days prior to the event, a calendar invite had been sent to its attendants. Due to
my shy nature, I had not accepted the invitation, but unbeknownst to me, the
attendance was required because, as the time approached, Mr. Rackers asked me to
prepare to leave with them. In candor, I was not comfortable with nor interested in
having lunch in such a setting, and worse, my co worker, Mr. Whittaker was battling
a severe cold that I was trying not to contract during this event.
Unfortunately, I do acknowledge the statement of my lagging behind from the rest
of the team. However, it was due to cramping from my previous ab workout at the
gym, and it was painful to move at a faster pace. I didn t want to burden anyone
with my issues, and thus, did not disclose it. Mr. Rackers had patiently awaited my
arrival to the building while everyone else had gone ahead. We then proceeded to
meet the others who were still waiting to be seated.
After waiting to be seated, the manager from Etta s arrived, and shortly thereafter,
we were then introduced to our seats. I was directed to sit directly across from the Mr.

knew that it was hurting his feelings, and she didn t seem to care. Since this
incident, I knew that my character assumption was correct, and the best course of
action was to stay professional at all times. He was a good sport about the entire

Essay on Figures of Speech in Poetry
The greatest thing by far is to be a master of metaphor. [It is] a sign of real genius,
since a good metaphor implies an intuitive perception of the similarity in dissimilars.
Aristotle in Poetics.
Poetry is language that says more than ordinary language. It uses figures of speech.
Each figure of speech may suggest several meanings with minimal words. It uses
words with strong connotations and these words appeal to the reader s emotions. The
language in poetry is strong. The Oxford English Dictionary defines figure of speech
as a word or phrase used in a non literal sense for rhetorical or vivid effect. Figures of
speech add interest and meaning to the way a person speaks. It is a variation from

The poem is about being pregnant and she uses nine lines with 9 syllables in each
line. This is stated in the first line of the poem. There is a sense of regret about the
pregnancy throughout the piece. Plath focuses on the negative attributes of being
pregnant and the inflections of it on her. An elephant suggests her belly is showing
and she feels large. However, Plath describes herself as a ponderous house
suggesting that she is slow and clumsy because of her weight and she is trying to
hide this. This loaf s big with its yeasty rising implies that she is getting even larger
as time goes on. In the 6th line the impression that this is her first pregnancy and
she is feeling obese is shown when she says, money s new minted in this fat purse.
Two meanings can be derived from a cow in calf. One being that she is a child
giving birth to a child. The other is that she feels the baby is bigger than her,
literally a calf giving birth to a cow. Plath also gives the idea of being ill and
having pains when she says, I ve eaten a bag of green apples. However, at the end
she knows there is nothing she can do but go through with the pregnancy; boarded the
train there s no getting off.
Margaret Atwood wrote a poem about marriage titled Habitation. In this poem
Atwood turns all of the negative aspects of marriage into one final positive. She states
that marriage is just not shelter but it starts before

The Characteristics Of Witchcraft In Early Modem Europe
Witchcraft in Early Modem Europe was perceived with mixed attitudes by the
society. People in the 16th and 17th centuries accepted witchcraft when it worked
to help them, but saw it as a satanic practice when it failed. Although it was socially
acceptable for people to seek for advice or help from witches, it was taboo for witches
to use magicas it was linked to devil worship and other beliefs that went against the
Christian faith. Furthermore, women accused of sorcery were often unable to
receive a fair trial as demonstrated by the leading questions that were posed and the
acts of torture that led to forced confessions. During a period of religious and political
turmoil, the Trial of Tempel Anneke illustrates the fact that society was not so much
concerned with the truth, but rather convicted these women because of their
marginalized role in society caused by social disposition. Furthermore, it can be
suggested that while it was acceptable for people to inquire about magic, the law
heavily punished those who would practice witchcraft. It is evident that Tempel
Anneke displays the typical characteristics of an accused witch an older female
figure that was perceived as a burden to society and offered little in return. Anneke
was a widower who lost her husband who during the Thirty Years War and
depended on her son s financial assistance. Furthermore, she was informally trained
by her mother as a naturopathic healer and used her healing skills to help cure
people and animals in her community by using herbs and other plants. Anneke had
not been accused of witchcraft while her neighbors had hired her for medicinal
purposes on a regular basis until the case of Hans Kholer because of the harmful
magic she was accused of employing that led to fear and resentment towards her.
Lastly, society s perceptions of women during the time furthered their inability to
prove their innocence through a fair trial. It was a widely held belief that women
were of weak understanding, and are hence more likely to be ensnared by the lies
and illusions of the Devil (pg. xxxvi). Society s prejudice towards women, especially
elderly women dependent on society, predetermined the fate of the women charged
for witchcraft; the court of

The Electric Conductivity in the Ionosphere Essay examples
The electric conductivity in the ionosphere associates the electric current and the
electric field by Ohm s law.
The conductivity includes the Pedersen component ( Expression 1 ) parallel to the
electric field and the Hall component ( Expression 2 ) perpendicular to the electric
and the magnetic field.
The conductivities usually concentrate between 100 and 130 km altitudes in the
central E region where ions and electrons can move separately.
Conductivities are proportional to plasma densities.
Daytime plasmas are mainly created by the solar extreme ultraviolet (EUV) radiation
into the neutral atmosphere.
Thus daytime plasma densities depend on the solar zenith angle (SZA, Expression 3 ).
Height profiles of such plasma densities are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In summary, SZA dependences are qualitatively different among previous studies.
The purpose of this study is to find simple and essential approximations of
conductances against SZA.
In particular, we will express the Hall to Pedersen conductance ratio as a function of
SZA.
We will conclude that the daytime conductance can be understood by the Chapman
theory after additional considerations including (1) upward gradient of the
atmospheric temperature, (2) vertically flat plasma density profile in the topside E
region, and (3) variations of conductance layer thickness.
Conductances are also dependent of the incident solar flux and the local magnetic
strength.
Such additional dependences will be studied in the future after the SZA dependences
are established.

How Does Cormac Use Literary Devices
I wanted to use literary devices a lot from the first paragraph of the book because I
wanted to show how much Cormac uses these literary devices and how many are
used in the same way throughout the book, but are introduced rather quickly within
this novel. 1. Alliteration Using a consonant many times over at the beginning of a
word in usually one sentence to give the effect of rhythm or things similar. Ex:
Nights dark beyond darkness and the days more gray each one than what had gone
before. The author uses alliteration in this early sentence of the book to emphasize
the darkness that was over the characters. This literary technique was used very
effectively because it can give a chilling effect to the reader about the visual... Show

Polysyndeton Basically a run on sentence except there isn t any commas or
something similar in a run on to show a transition of ideas. A sentence containing
multiple conjunctions, a lot of the times the same one, to continue an idea or list
multiple examples. Ex: He pushed away the plastic tarpaulin and raised himself in
the stinking robes and blankets and looked... This brings light to the tedious and
many tasks the characters have to do and what they endure from the beginning not
even knowing much about the setting. Using this technique of basically a run on
sentence shows how many tasks were done in such a short amount of time. It
shows how the character was wrapped up sleeping in the night and what they had
to do to even simply get up or look around. 8. Imagery The use of very descriptive
words to give an image of the setting, characters, or things related to the reader. Ex:
Crouching there pale and naked and translucent, its alabaster bones cast up in
shadow on the rocks behind it. Its bowels, its beating heart. The brain that pulsed in

Herpes B Research Paper
Herpes B Virus and sources of transmission
Herpes viruses have a history of infecting different animals in the past. The herpes b
virus is carried by numerous species of macaque monkeys, which are believed to be
a natural host for the virus. An increasing population of drifting monkeys in Florida
takes a herpes virus that is deadly to people. The herpes B infection is sporadic in
individuals, but if it does happen, it could lead to serious brain injury or death when
the individual is not treated immediately.
Signs and Symptoms
Genital herpes infections frequently don t have any symptoms or moderate symptoms
which go unrecognized. Most of the infected men and women are unaware they have
the disease. Typically, about 10 20 percent of individuals with HSV 2 infection report
a previous identification of yeast.

It looks like pretty necessary but useful information, particularly today that scientists
have discovered that over a quarter of those cute, feral invaders take the deadly
herpes B virus. These macaques can be witnessed wandering the area adjacent to the
park. It can cause a severe disease in people that if untreated may be fatal in over
70% of the scenarios, inducing an encephalomyelitis.
Scientists are analyzing an increase of rhesus monkeys in Silver Springs State Park
state. It is suspected that monkeys are carrying herpes virus which can cause severe
health and security problems for the human health as well as the animals of the park.
From a healthcare perspective, it is quite common that certain monkey species might
be the career of herpes virus. The infected monkeys might transmit the virus through
their saliva and other bodily fluids. Individual visitors to the park are likely to be
vulnerable through contact with saliva in macaque bites and scrapes or by contact
with viral drop through feces and

Analysis Of Simone De Beauvoir s The Girl
Throughout history, women have constantly been objectified and forced into
submission by the male dominated society. Simone de Beauvoir s philosophical
work, The Second Sex, echoes the intense oppression of women and reflects the
first wave feminist movement. Her existentialist decoding of genders resulted in
the idea of the Other, which explores the phenomenon of women forced into the
role of an object, while men are the subject. In the second chapter, The Girl ,
Beauvoir further studies the idea of this oppression during one s transition from a
girl into a woman. Beauvoir states that no matter how much freedom and sense of
self a girl holds, she is always forced into the role of the Other in society. Beauvoir s
idea of the Other held... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Beauvoir 348) Beauvoir claims that a girl going through adolescence must
suppress their freedoms, sexual desires, and basic human tendencies to adhere to
social pressures. It is unnatural for a female to be the subject and must assume
herself as a passive object . A girl during the first would be forced into a role of a
passive object, but Korra has completely withstood Beauvoir s idea of girls being
forced into a passive object during adolescence. She is the subject and the most
dominate force within the series. She achieves the ideal of femininity with
confining herself within the role of the Other. Unlike the Beauvoir s idea of girls,
Korra does not limit her freedoms and erotic tendencies to conform to social
pressures. In season 4, episode 12, Korra and Asami reveal their budding
relationship. This freedom to be open about her affections from another girl and
the idea of bisexuality, in general, reinforces the difference between the first and
the fourth wave of feminism. Korra doesn t conform to social norms and pressures,
but rather shatters the glass ceiling society places on women. Jinora undermines
Beauvoir s idea of the father s role in fostering the idea of Other in girls. She does so
by possessing the ability to connect to the spirit world, which all male

Theme Of Psycho And The Talented Mr. Ripley
The 1960 Alfred Hitchcock classic thriller, Psycho and the psychological thriller
novel, The Talented Mr.Ripley by notable American author Patricia Highsmith both
challenge the audience s perception of the noir protagonist through pronounced
exploration controversial themes via the. Through the use of a range of stylistic
features, the authors aim to blur the line between innocence and guilt in order to
develop a false sense of empathy for the protagonists Tom Ripleyand Norman Bates
(Anthony Perkins). Characterisation of both of these protagonists, used in a way that
forces the audience to connect with them and adopt an controversial point of view,
transforms the audiences perception of how the murderer of a psychological thriller

Highsmith and Hitchcock use characterization as the central means of forcing the
audience to develop a connection with the protagonists in both texts by using it to
portray them as average people. The most obvious technique used in creating an
engaging picture for both characters is the consonance in their names. Both
Thomas Ripley and Norman Bates are short and average names, which are not
likely to spark an interest in the reader s mind. For this reason the reader is not
able to have any preconceived notions of either character purely on a basis of their
name. In both texts, the protagonists are shown as well spoken young men with
calm exteriors. Norman Bates and Tom Ripley are introduced as average young
men, who also seems lonely and gentle, therefore the audience is forced to develop
sympathy for his character from the beginning of the texts. They both wear modest,
conservative clothing; Highsmith s first description of Tom Ripley s costume a suit
and a striped tie suggests a moderate level of formality in his costume which during
the time that the book was written (1955), would resemble the look of the everyday
man. Norman Bates is introduced in pants, a

Essay about Of Miracles by David Hume
Of Miracles by David Hume
In David Hume?s paper ?Of Miracles,? Hume presents a various number of arguments
concerning why people ought not to believe in any miracles. Hume does not think
that miracles do not exist it is just that we should not believe in them because they
have no rational background. One of his arguments is just by definition miracles are
unbelievable. And have no rational means in believing miracles. Another argument is
that most miracles tend to come from uncivilized countries and the witnesses
typically have conflicts of interest and counterdict each others experiences. Both of
these arguments are valid however they tend to be weak. I think that Hume?s
strongest argument is that he claims there is no ... Show more content on

This argument is seen by society to be far fetched, because most people have a
certain belief in a certain religion and have somewhat a belief in miracles, but Hume
has a good argument. He says that people should not believe in religions that are
based on miracles because they have no credibility. Miracles themselves are
thought to have weak credibility because the majority of the people in the society
think that they are false. However there are many people that believe in miracles
in one way or another. Either directly or indirectly. If you affiliate yourself with a
religion that is based on miracles then you are indirectly a believer in miracles. This
is what Hume would think and also he would say that you should not believe in the
miracles because they are the basis of your religion and have no credibility due to the
fact that the religion is trying to destroy another religion and their miracles.
Even though Hume has a good argument, one could make an argument that Hume
is wrongly saying that we ought not to believe in religions based on miracles.
Religion is a major part of society. The majority of the world has faith in a religion
and it thought to believe in miracles. Also religion has helped the world grow to
where it is today and if Hume says that we should not have even believed in religion,
then society would not have grown and developed into various civilizations. Religion
brings mass amount of people together, and most of the time they

The Transformation Of Prince Hal In Shakespeare s Henry
IV
In Shakespeare s play Henry IV, the character Hal, the prince of Wales, endures a
transformation that can be characterized as redemption. Hal is introduced by
Shakespeare in the opening act as a traitor of the court. Hal s shortage of leadership
over the commonwealth has raised many eyebrows especially those of his father, the
king. Since Hal is heir to the throne, the King registers the fact that in order to keep
peace, a ruler and his heir must possess the ability to be accountable and admirable,
neither of which Hal bestows. King Henry IV communicates to his confidant that he
would rather have Hotspur, the son of the Earl of Northumberland, next in line to the
throne. By doing this, Shakespeare has positioned Hal and Hotspur to loathe one...

This means an end to his defiant behavior and a start to achieving his princely
responsibilities. Prince Hal is stuck between two influential men who portray
contradicting beliefs. The individual most significant in the prince s childhood is

immature manner, giving contrasting ideals to the Prince s youth. In conflict to the
affable Falstaff enters Henry IV, the biological father of the Prince who is mature
with leadership and political sovereignty providing a model for the Prince in his
development. After deciding to reclaim himself, Hal talks to his father about his
plan to conquer Hotspur in battle and obtain righteousness. It is evident that Hal
believes he can free himself of his humiliation by gaining recognition after
conquering Hotspur. While he does not want to simply gain honor, Hal wants to
exchange his disgrace for Hotspur s honor. Hal wants to free himself in the name of
his father and wants his father to be pleased of his upbringing. Hal desires nothing
more than to become an honorable person. However, Hal s strategy to gain honor is

Capturing The Gangster
The story of Capturing the Friedman and The Imposter are unique and interesting;
however, The Imposter delivers a more meaningful message and imposes stronger
emotional impacts on the audience. The movie s title, The Imposter, does a great job
to capture the audience s impression and curiosity, for they are craving to know who
is the real imposter. Opposed to Capturing the Friedman, which has no one narratives

The effect of this single shoot also help to forms an emotional connection between
Bourdin and the audience when he discuses his childhood as an damaged person who

great sense of sympathy for a boy who is longing to be wanted and loved. Opposed

William Tennyson s Idylls Of The King
Throughout the book by Alfred, Lord Tennyson entitled Idylls of the King, subject,
ideas, and object often reoccur on each page bring with them deeper meaning then
that which is apparent. The more specific motif that I will be explaining is the
contrast and similarity of light and darkness in the descriptions of people, settings,
and the mood of a situation. Lightand darkness can be contrasted in many ways, such
as the rising sun, bright colors, and physical description of darkness such as heavy
mist. When describing people during specific events, Tennyson uses the diction
between light and dark to show the reader inside the typical appearance of the
character and see what they truly are inside. As Arthur passes by Guinevere, he
Felt the light of her eyes into his life (Tennyson 6) while Guinevere did not even
notice that the King had just been in her presence. This light from her eyes is
supposed to be describing Guinevere, but it really gives us insight into the mind of
Arthur. While Arthur has become King, he still acts like an average person. He
does not think more highly of himself than everyone else and can notice a simplistic
young woman and instantly love her, although he had no idea of who she is. This
also shows Arthurs innocence in that he instantly see s good in her and feel the light
radiating off of her. We learn later that she is not nearly as wonderful as Arthur had
thought, and as Arthur learns that he was wrong to assume about her, She made her

country attract new capital so its productivity increase. If FDI would be productive
then the capital that coming the country will be stable and long lasting. With the
competition brought by FDI, in the host country s companies effected very efficially

the FDI inflow of country, the employment generation will increase in that country.
When the country s productivity increase, employment ratio will increase and its
competitiveness increase, too. FDI contribute to the spillover of technology and

The Wife s Lament And The Seafarer Analysis
The
Similarities of The Wife s Lament and The Seafarer Life away from home can be
hard, but imagine what it would be like if it was to a harsh sea or under a giant tree.
In the two poems we will be dissecting, you will see how these two different
situations have a lot in common. In one of the oldest poems known in the world, The
Seafarer was written long by an unknown author.
Throughout the poem we see how the man takes his exile emotionally and physically,
all the while he sails the sea and world. He goes to other countries and shows how on
his missions he sees amazing things, but he expresses how sad he is. In the second
poem, The Wife s Lament, a woman is exiled to a cave by her husband, and she goes
through all her thoughts and emotions, and she decides to get out her anger and
heartbreak for her husband, she curses him while is out at sea. While we go through
both of these poems, we will find differences between exiles. In The Seafarer, it isn t
known whether the man was exiled, or if he willingly left his home.
Throughout the poem you can see the way that the man holds himself together,
and how he feels about the people on the land. This the man does not know for
whom on land it turns out most favourably, how i, wretched and sorrowful, on the
ice cold sea... In this line, we can see that the man is very angry about having to be
out at sea. While he is out at sea, he talks about his family back at home that later
help us connect The SeaFarer to The Wife s Lament. You can see how the mans
actions and words were very Pagen at the beginning of the poem, but slowly
transform into Christian values and words change by the end of the poem. This
leads many people to believe that the original poem have been translated by high
church member, because they were the only ones back then that were educated
enough to read and write. If it were translated by a high ranking church member, it
is possible that some of it might have been changed. As you move onto the second
poem, The Wife s Lament, we look at an exile, through a different person s eyes.
When the Wife is still on land, she is still exiled far away to a cave area under a
great tree. Although she was not on the seas, she still found

The Assassination Of John Brown
There are many definitions of terrorism and no one can be completely certain what
it really means. Despite his actions at Pottawatomie Creek and Harper s Ferry, John
Brown certainly had legitimate reasons to carry out his attacks. Throughout his
childhood, John had learned to be against slavery. His father was a deeply religious
man who believed owning people was against God s word. Even as a child and
teenager John was mature, enough to be an adult. So when he saw slaves beaten by
their owners, he knew it was wrong. As a teenager, John proceeded to become closer
to the lord. Soon John was an adult and still believed that slaverywas wrong. The
murder of Elijah P. Lovejoy set John over the edge and he vowed that he would end
slavery. In the years that followed, John Browns vow became unfulfilled. Despite his
concern on slavery, John had much more... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When they made it, they rested up for a while before finally acting. As they were
making their way across a railroad. A person, recognizing John, ran off to try to

first man they killed in Harper s Ferry was a free black man. Having no remorse
over the dead, John kept tromping onward. He took over Harper s Ferry as
planned but no slaves came to help. In fact, the slaves were among the ones to be
horrified at John s actions. Eventually, the military came and wiped out all of John
s men including two of his sons. John was captured and had to be brought on a
stretcher to his hearing. They announced him guilty of all his crimes and he was
later sentenced to be hanged. John s actions caused a ripple throughout the north.
Northerners looked up to him as a hero. He inspired the north to make their moves
to stop slavery. He showed them that if one man can stand up to slavery imagine
what would happen if all the north stood up too. John Brown was a freedom

Us Marines Essay
There are many career fields available to young adults in the United States of
America, some of which include the military. The Marines is a great career field
because people can apply themselves in a structured environment gaining self
respect along with learning skills that will help them later in life. Specifically, the
Marines are a proud organization that celebrates their history, uniforms, as well as
their principals and values. The Marines were established on November 10, 1775
when the Continental Congress met to create two battalions of Marines to fight on
sea and shore. Samuel Nicholas, a military man of Philadelphia, was appointed
captain of the Marines on the November 28, 1775 and established the first recruiting
headquarters at Tun s Tavern, Philadelphia. Every year, the Marine Corps marks
November 10 with a celebration of the brave spirit which compelled these men and
thousands since to defend our country as United States Marines. Serving on land and
sea, the Marines distinguished themselves as a military branch through several
important operations throughout the Revolutionary War. Captain Samuel Nichols
lead the first landing, successfully capturing New Providence Island in the Bahamas,
which was British territory, in March 1776. After American Independence in 1783,
the Marines were disbanded, as well as the Navy at the time. However, a decade
later, increasing conflict in the seas with Revolutionary France caused the United

Malcolm Gladwell Plagiarism
Malcolm Gladwell wrote Sometheing Borrowed: Should a charge of plagiarism
ruin your life in What the Dog Saw: And other Adventures. Gladwell s main point
in his story is that plagiarism is unfair and dishonest. He then goes on to discuss the
many facets of plagiarism; like melodies in songs and picnic tables. Gladwell wants
people who are interested in the arts and humanities to read this because he pulls
pieces of music, art and literature to use as examples since plagiarism is a key
component in these areas. This is because people change up others work and make
it into their own for the world to develop and grow. Malcolm Gladwell explains
that when an idea goes public, people are allowed to copy it and make others work
into a grander cause. Overall I think Gladwell was trying to focus on why ideas are
plagiarized and their reasoning behind it, rather than just focusing on the fact that it
was plagiarized. Gladwell starts off by introducing a psychiatrist by the name of
Dorothy
Lewis whose work and life had been amalgamated in a Broadway play called
Frozen. Lewis s friends had continuously nagged her to go see the play, after a
short few months she received a phone call from the theatre production of frozen
asking her if she would do a talk back after the play. Before she accepted to do it she
asked if she could read the script. After reading it she realized that Bryon Lavery not
only took her work but violated her as well. At the time Lavery

Racial Inequality In Brazil
Towards the end of the 19th century, immigration to Brazil began to rapidly increase.
The demand for coffee continued to increase, and the coffee production industry
expanded due to an influx in immigrants from Japan, Portugal, Spain, Italy, as well as
several other European countries. Brazil was a divided nation, lacking a unified
population or shared culture. The goal of allowing an influx of European immigrants
into the country was to conform to European culture, and civilize Brazil. Essentially,
Brazil had desires to whiten the population. The largely black, and Mulatto
population quickly began to transform into predominantly white. Racial inequality
and discrimination marked Brazil, and created distinct divisions amongst the
population. Following abolition, Afro Brazilians had immense difficulty in defining
their own place in Brazilian society. Prior to the 1980s, racist attitudes as well the
intention of Westernizing Brazil, made it challenging for Afro Brazilians to achieve
economic or social mobility. Beginning in the 20th century, efforts to diminish
racial inequality became increasingly necessary to Brazil. Afro Brazilians have
faced severe inequity post abolition, however in recent decades the eradication of
racial inequality has become imperative. Scientific racism emerged in Brazil from
France, and was rooted from the philosophy positivism. Positivism was an ideology
that declared any rational observation or idea can be scientifically, logically, or

Themes And Symbolism In The Pedestrian By Ray
Braddbury
The Pedestrian is an intriguing story that takes place in the future. Ray Bradbury
captured the reality of things. This story shows how people start to be secluded
from everything and everyone. The people in this story have no idea what is
happening to them, but there is one person who does know and his name is Mr.
Mead. This story shows many symbols to many different things. Characterization is
shown and described many times throughout this story, and the setting has its own
twist on it too. Mr. Mead is developed as not normal in this story, but he really might
be the only normal one there. Bradbury literary choices to successfully have an
impact his overall theme of how technology negatively impacts the people. Bradbury

Characterization is one of biggest elements in Bradburys story. Mr.Mead is a very
interesting character. Mr. Mead shows different emotions throughout this short
story. Mr. Mead loves nature and the beauty of the outside unlike the other citizens.
Mead will talk to the houses, because he knows the people inside will not respond.
He will say things like, Hello, how are you? The citizens of the city never come
outside nor do they see nature, because they are busy using technology/devices.
Mr. Mead is known for being not normal, or being weird. Everyone in the city is
known for being normal, because the normal thing to do is be glued to your
device. The people do not go outside, they do not drive around, take walks, or do
other activities. Mr. Mead is not secluded from the outside world, he goes out and
does activities. There is only one police car in the whole city, because there is no
crime or activity outside. So, there is no need to waste money and other resources
on something that would be a waste of space. Maybe one day people will finally
relize Mr. Mead is normal and has a great impact on the city and

Child Labor Lost
A Labor Of Lost Innocence
Did you know that child labor does more than deprive children of their education
and mental and physical development, their childhood is stolen? Child labor is the
use of children in the industry or business, especially when illegal or considered
inhuman. Here s a fun fact I bet you didn t know that children who participates in
the labor force is endlessly varied and responding to changing social conditions. This
is exactly why child labor should not be legal.
Child labor should not be legal because children misses out on their childhood,
education, and its unhealthy and unsafe. The first reason child labor should not be
legal is because children miss out on their childhood. Many child labourers are

Some people may consider that child labor is beneficial because the children are
learning how to work and learn about the different stuff in the world. So people
may think that child labor gives the children enough education on the real world.
Also, people think that if children works in the warehouse or extreme labor jobs
then they will be taught about responsibility. An example is that the children will
start to help their families and find out how it is to be an adult in the real world and
how the real world works. This argument may seem persuasive at first but children
are put into unsafe environments because of child labor, which can potentially kill
them. Is making money worth more than a child s

Mercury Dumping Incident
The particular case study in review was an incident involving a waste Mercury
reclaiming facility which contaminated the surrounding area to include a body of
water. Any form of hazardous material contamination to the environment is a serious
issue that should be taken with immediate serious reactions. Anytime a hazardous
material is handled, moreover one that has been expended from its primary use
should come with the automatic question of how proper disposal must be conducted.
There is generally zero excuse for openly dumping a non natural substance, let alone a
wasteproduct into nature. Operations dealing with hazardous chemicals need to use
common sense and good housekeeping despite any delay in production or efficiency
when results can have detrimental impacts to the environment furthermore the good
standings of their operation.
Typically these case studies have a similar underpinning of (what were they
thinking!). This sentence says everything waste contaminated with mercury was
dumped over an embankment of an unnamed tributary to a creek (VanGuilder, para.

an astronomical figure that without a doubt would be devastating to a business. The
real impact lies however that the contamination may never fully be recovered even
after the cleanup process is complete. Furthermore incidents such as this will
undoubtedly impact the local wildlife causing unnecessary death to creatures in the
affected area. Stiff penalties are completely justifiable in these

How Did Jefferson Change In A Lesson Before Dying
Ernest J. Gaines novel, A Lesson Before Dying, is about a young black man,
named Jefferson. Jefferson is sentenced to death as a result of a crime he seemingly
did not commit. Jefferson s god mother, Miss Emma, wants Grant Wiggins to teach
Jefferson to die like a man with dignity. Grant cannot decide whether he should help
Miss Emma, or leave the state. Eventually he decides to visit Jefferson, and attempts
to make Jefferson act like the man Miss Emma wants him to be. Since Jefferson was
a stubborn man, Grant struggled to communicate with him during their first few
visits. Gradually, Jefferson changes his attitude towards the point that he was
convicted of a crime he did not commit, and the fact that he was called a hog, and a
fool. and walks... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Grant goes to the Rainbow Club, and overhears two men speaking about Jefferson,
and although he cannot fully understand what they are saying, he hears a few
impolite comments said about Jefferson. One man insists, Should have burned
him months ago (198). This proves he believes Jefferson should have died earlier,
and should not have had any time to live after the crime was committed. The man
also claims, I d pull the switch myself, they ask me (198). This verifies he does not
have any sympathy for Jefferson, and he would not have any problem ending his
life. Had Jefferson been white, it is possible people would be more open to hearing
his side of the story, and he could have been given a punishment that was not as

multiobjective problem can be viewed as well and if we consider a minimisation
problem for all objectives functions: m functions to optimize and p constraints to
satisfy. The main goal of all optimisation methods is to find an optimal solution of
those problems, and we should precise that a multiobjective problem have many
objectives to optimize these functions are mutually contradictory, so to make a
comparison between solution and an other one, we should describe a relation to

minimisation problem, lets u and v two vectors. A solution is an Pareto optimal
solution if and only if it doesn t exist an other admissible solution x where f(x)

they are not dominated by any other solutions, we call this set the Pareto front 2

John Rawls s Theory Of Justice
If we could invent a time traveling machine and go back in time there are decisions
and events that we would go through great lengths to try to reverse or change the
outcome of in the future. We might decide to not take a specific date to the prom,
stay with the one that got away, or work on our jump shot a little more. But what
would we do if we could put a video game reset on our society as a whole? John
Rawlsproposed a similar question in his theory of the original positionin A Theory of
Justice. In Rawls original position, he asks individuals to decide which laws and
principles would work in the best interest of society as a whole if we were to have a
sort of fresh start (Shaw Barry, 2016). This theory and other theories proposed by
Rawls encourage individuals to make objective decisions in business and in
everyday life that allow for cooperative efforts to take place and for positive changes
to be made within society.
Why is this? Under the original position we would all choose a society that held
fundamental liberties for everyone and would hold that inequalities only be allowed
if they would benefit the least fortunate (Shaw Barry, 2016). This sounds too good to
be true, as many people have conflicting interests and beliefs that would prevent them
from this sort of reasoning, you might say. Rawls, however, also asks that people
remove their individual biases, status, gender, etc. or use a veil of ignorance when
assessing their idealized fundamental principles.

Essay on A Room With A View by Edward Morgan Forster
The Subtle Heroine
A Room with a View, by Edward Morgan Forster, presents the story of Lucy
Honeychurch, a young woman belonging to English high society. ; Foster places this
young maiden in a state of conflict between the snobbery of her class, the suitable
and traditional ; views and advice offered by various family members and friends, and
her true heart s desire. This conflict forces Lucy Honeychurch to choose between
convention and passion (Bantam Intro back cover), ; and throws her into a state of
internal struggle, as she must sift through the elements of her social conditioning ; and
discern them from her true emotions and desires. Foster develops and utilizes Lucy s
internal struggle as a means of transforming her from ... Show more content on

Next, Foster brilliantly introduces the character of Cecil Vyse, a medieval ; and high
standing Englishman who, while is an acceptable suitor, really only sees Lucy as
another pretty possession by his side. Cecil s most important function ironically
enough, is to serve as a mirror ; for Lucy. For by seeing his snobbish and downright
crude mannerisms, Lucy receives a likely image of what she herself could become
if she were to marry Cecil for convention and not for passion. Becoming disgusted
with Cecil s behavior, she breaks off her engagement with him, yet still cannot
distinguish whether she is doing it because of his crude and snobbish nature or
because of her love for George, which she has still yet to admit.
Finally, in a heated, tearful, and heart warming debate, Mr. Emerson (George s
father) gives Lucy the last ounce of strength that she needs to complete her
transformation from a petty young woman to a subtle heroine. Mr. Emerson sees
right through her false excuses for breaking off with Cecil and forces her to realize
her genuine feelings of love for George. Lucy succumbs to her passion and
overcomes the confining condition of her social class. She tells her family and
friends of her love for George Emerson, refusing to hold on to her distinguished and
proper ; behavior, giving into her true desire, and transforming from a petty young
woman to a subtle heroine.

Analysis Of William David Ross The Right And The Good
Introduction Published in the twentieth century, William David Ross The Right and
the Good is one of the most important contributions to moral philosophy of its time.
Within the text, Ross outlines arguments for his definitions of the right and the
good, as well as what things are right and what things are good. This paper will
focus on chapter five of The Right and the Good, entitled What Things Are Good? I
will give an account of what is written in chapter five, including arguments,
objections, and replies. The purpose of this paper is not to agree with or oppose the
points that Ross makes, but rather to explain his points and the objections and
responses that are proposed. The chapter addresses the question, what kinds of things

Ross addresses the argument that virtue always promotes the general pleasure, and
that therefore pleasure is not an intrinsic good, by pointing the reader back toward
his Two Universe Argument. Additionally, he addresses the tendency of other
moralists to insist that pleasure involves the desire to either bring pleasure or
cause pain, regarding the two as opposing forces and implying that pleasure is
always good and pain is always bad (5.3). Ross objects to the idea that our thoughts
regarding kindness as good implies that pleasure prima facie ( where other
considerations do not enter into the case ) good just as pain is prima facie bad
(5.3). Ross also addresses the objection that merit, as it tends to insist that virtue be
rewarded by happiness, requires that happiness and unhappiness are not in
themselves things indifferent, but are good and bad respectively (5.3). After
outlining Kant s points on the matter, Ross replies that by pointing out the
occasions when we think a lustful or cruel action is bad; and we think it a good
thing that people should be pained rather than pleased by contemplating vice or
misery (5.6). He asks the reader to think carefully about what it is that we mean
when we make claims regarding whether or not pleasure and pain are good or bad.
For this exercise in thinking, Ross states that what is good or bad is always

Verse 11 Essay
Verse 11 talks about to put on the armor of God. This armor is not literal armor that
an individual can put on since characterizes such as truth and righteousness are not
clothing items. Instead, the word armor should be taken as referring to figurative
articles of protection that an individual should take upon themselves. The verse
begins with the command to put on . It is not phrased in a question but is a
commandment for those who follow Christ. Thus, we are to put on all the armor not
just the parts that we see fit to as indicated by the wordwhole . After all it is
dangerous to only put a helmet but to go into battle without a shield.
But what is the purpose of putting on the armor of God? Well, the second half of
verse 2 tells us that it is so that we might be able to stand against the schemes of the
devil. The term that in this verse gives a reason for us to put on the armor and that
reason is so that we would be able to stand. But what does that mean? The phrase you
may be able indicates that that our need to put on ... Show more content on

Take up gives us a command; it is not supposed to be an option for us to not put on
the armor of God. But what are we to take up? This question is answered in the
next five words, which state, The whole armor of God . This means that we are to
take up the full armor of God instead of just parts of it. But spiritual battles cannot
be fought with man made armor so this armor is made by a spiritual God as
indicated by the words of God . It is necessary that God make the armor because
our physical armor is incapable of doing anything against the attacks of the spiritual
realm. Furthermore, we cannot even create the armor that is needed to defend
ourselves on our own. So our armor needs to be created by a spiritual being in order
for us to be able to fight and defend

Growing Up In Presidential Elections
There is a point when politics begin saturating daily life from the incredible overload
of constant argument and confusion. I personally dream of the day when I can get
through a meal without politics being brought up, when I can go on the internet and
not see headlines about who insulted who.
In a world where there is increasingly significant polar opposite feelings, it is hard to
stay focused on one s own feelings with so many other opinions being constantly
expressed. From confused and frustrated to incredibly confident and angry, it is
impossible not to clash with others. Because of the divide between voters, there is
increased arguments and talk of the election in general.

lost in constant leaks of emails and videos.
Normally, the political election is regarded as really beginning when the candidates
are nominated, but this is not a normal election. The 2016 election has been looming
over the American population since before even the primary and caucus debates.
Possibly the most publicized presidential race in American history, it is easy to get

According to a study led by the GDELT Project, television networks have mentioned

During the election, media has grabbed at any information regarding the candidates
imaginable. The avalanche of media coverage takes away from essential facts that an
informed citizen requires to make a responsible decision when

Characters In Tess Of The DUrbervilles By Thomas Hardy
Thomas Hardy s Tess of the D Urbervilles is a novel that follows the story of a
young woman by the name of Tess Durbeyfield after her impoverished family learns
of their connection to the wealthy D Urbervilles. Throughout the novel, Tess
sacrifices her childhood, innocence, and happiness by leaving her family to accept a
job offer, becoming a victim of a rape, and later agreeing to marry her rapist, all in
pursuit of economic gain for her family; such sacrifices illuminate Tess deep value
of her family, despite their selfishness and lack of concern for her well being.
Following the death of the family horse, Tess agrees to visit Mrs D Urberville at
her estate near the town of Trantridge to claim kin . She instead meets her libertine
son, Alec D Urberville, who secures her a position as a poultry keeper on
Trantridge Farm. Her family urges her to accept the position and Tess guilt over
the horse s death and the economic consequences of her family overshadow her
apprehensions about Alec as she reluctantly accepts his offer. Moreover, after a few
months of working at Trantridge, Tess finds herself in a fight over another worker s
jealousy at Alec s affection towards her. Alec soon arrives and rescues Tess from the
mob, but instead of returning directly home, he allows his horse to wander through
the forest until they eventually become lost in the dense fog. Alec leaves Tess to find
their bearings and returns to find her asleep. Taking advantage of her vulnerable state,

Cyber Crime As A Key Risk For Regulated Firm
Cyber crime as a key risk for regulated firm Delegate ID number : 3733017
November 2014 The term cyber crime describes criminal activity involving computer
and internet in committing a crime. Generally it can be divided to two manners: It
can target the machine itself, where the purpose of crime would be to gain access to
important data stored on the machine, which could be used to obtain gain. It can also
use the machine as a tool to commit other type of crime in more traditional
understanding, say distribute child pornography or trade ill gotten goods. Other
division categorises cyber crime according to whom it is directed towards: Against

committing internet fraud but can also be a channel to commit traditional crime and
provide platform for criminals to support each other and build network. It has been
observed that multiple online marketplaces have emerged through channels such as
forums and Internet Relay Chats (IRC). They are meant to cater the need for
hacking tools, malicious software, and stolen data. Less skilled actors can gain the
access to guidance and services helping them extend their skills. Closer look at these
marketplaces reveals that they can be used to distribute and obtain expertise, tools,
and even sensitive data of potential victims, such as credit card numbers, bank
account details, and personal identification numbers. The below table illustrates the

Red Tide Toxins
The delicate balance of Southwest Florida s ecosystems is being threatened by a
terrible danger known as Red Tide, an event instigated by manmade products. It has
become an increasingly prominent issue that I fear is being affected by humans.
Red Tide has become a quiet phenomenon that many people fear will overrun the
marine life surrounding our coast. If this problem isn t addressed soon, it could cost
the environment, as well as our economy, a devastating toll. Red Tide has become a
hot topic to research and learn about due to its current prominence in Southwest
Florida s problems. It can produce a host of problems, such as the destruction of
aquatic habitats, countless fish kills, and horrible health issues, even among humans.

Groups such as Florida Fish and Wildlife Association and Mote Marine Laboratory,
believe that Red Tide is completely out of our hands and is not affected by any
human behavior. They claim that there are only natural explanations to Red Tide.
The websites for these associations contain information stating that outbreaks of
Red Tide are not linked to any human activities occurring on land (Ji 1). In a study
written by Patrick Barry and partially funded by NASA, the author theorizes that
dust clouds from Africa form the basis for Red Tide, like a story from the Old

claim that these clouds are carried on the wind from Africa s Saharan Deserts to the
Gulf of Mexico (2), where the iron in the dust is used by plant like bacteria called
Trichodesmium. These bacteria put nitrogen in the water, which provides nutrients
for some bacteria (6). This process, according to the study, causes the cycle that
