Born out of dissatisfaction with current English learning methods like the grammar-translation and audiolingual approach. Speakers unable to generate fluent, spontaneous native-like speech (Hall, 2011, p. 93). Purpose is to focus on authentic language use and to provide learners with the ability to produce ‘real’ language. Teacher Standards (2009 ) is widely used in other countries such as Albania, Paraguay, and the United States.
