The Elementary Teacher Education (ETE) program prepares outstanding elementary and middle school teachers to meet the challenges of educating today’s diverse student population.
ETE students choose a concentration in one of the following six areas:Middle school English
Middle school math
Middle school science
Middle school social studies
Special education
Urban education

4. Degree Requirements for Elementary Education Students Students pursuing BA degrees in Education or Special Education must complete University Integrative Studies and Writing Requirements, the Planned Program for Elementary Education, one of four Elementary Certification Teaching Majors and a series of professional education courses.
