Teacher's day is clebretedto show our Gratitude, Love and
Recognition of the hard work they put in to Mould us.
The Indian scriptures says about the four entities mata,
pita, guru, and devam, where the position of the god is
next to the teacher.
It is impossible to think our life without teacher because in
every stage of our life. A person will be there to guide us,
teach us, and encourage us.
Different countries celebrate the day on different dates.
5th October is observed as world teachers' day.
Why We celebrate Teacher ‘s Day?

In india,5th September is the day when this day is
observed.
India is continuously celebrating teachers' day since
the year of 1962.
The day is the birth day of sarvepalliRadhakrishnan,
the great educationist and philosopher of India and,
was the first vice president and the second president
of the independent India.

credit.Asateacher,hetaughtstudentsat
CalcuttaUniversityandChennai'sPresidency
Collegefromtheyears1931-1936.Inthe
year1936,hebecametheSpaldingProfessor
ofEasternReligionsandEthicsatOxford,a
positionheretainedfor16years.
HewasbornonSeptember5,1888,in
Madras'sThiruttani,hewasknownforhis
inspirationalteachingstyle.It'sinhishonor
thatIndiacelebratesthisdayastheTeachers'
Day.

When he became President, some of his students and
friends requested him to allow them to celebrate his
birthday, 5th September. He replied, “Instead of
celebrating my birthday, it would be my proud privilege if 5
September is observed as Teachers' Day.”
According to him, “Teachers should be the best minds in
the country.”

the first woman's school
in India.
She has started a school
for girls in 1948, and
also worked towards
dealing with issues such
as widow remarriages
and untouchability
among others.

SavitribaiPhule
Her husband needed some female teachers to join his
bandwagon of his reform works. Thus he taught and
trained his wife as a teacher. After completing her studies ,
she opened a school for girls in 1848 in Pune.
Savitribaicontinued teaching girls even after facing very
strong oppositions from the society .
She also published some books of poems such as KAVYA
PHULE In 1934 and BAVAN KASHI SUBODH in1982.
“Awake, arise and educate. Smash traditions-Liberate,”
Phulesaid.

A. P. J. Abdul Kalam
AvulPakirJainulabdeen(A. P. J.) Abdul Kalamwas a
scientist and engineer, who served as the President of
India from 2002 to 2007.
He is a man of vision ,who is always full of ideas aimed at
the development of the country and is often also referred
to as the missile man of India.
People loved and respected him so much during his tenure
as president that was popularly called the people’s
president.
He is also receive largest civilian award Bharat Ratanin
1997.
