Definition of Teaching According to Gage, "Teaching is a form of interpersonal influence aimed at changing the behavior potential of another person .“ Edmund Amidon defined it as-" Teaching is an interactive process, primarily involving class room talk which takes place between teacher and pupil and occurs during certain definable activity."

3. Cont … Ryans - "Teaching is concerned with the activities which are concerned with the guidance or direction of the learning of others .“ Clarke- “teaching refers to activities that are designed and performed to produce change in behaviour .”

4. Effective Teaching It is difficult to define "effective teaching" - people with completely different styles are equally effective. The one thing that we have learned in research in higher education, is that there is no one best way of teaching. Vogt (1984) related effective teaching to the ability to provide instruction to different students of different abilities while incorporating instructional objectives and assessing the effective learning mode of the students.

8. Maxims of Teaching The term ‘Maxims of Teaching’ may be defined as rules for presenting difficult terms and concepts to make them easy to comprehend in classroom teaching.
