What is Government? A government can be defined as the body, entity, invested with the power to manage a political unit, organization or more often, a State. Government, from the Latin locution gubernare - means steer a ship/vessel - describes the governing authority in charge of running a State. A system of order for a nation, state, or another political unit. A government is responsible for creating and enforcing the rules of a society, defense, foreign affairs, the economy, and public services

Teaching Government BACKGROUND Teaching government can be both fascinating and crucial for students to understand how societies function and how power is distributed and exercised. It can be a daunting task, but it is essential in developing students critical thinking and decision-making skills. By introducing government concepts, we can empower students with the knowledge and skills they need to become informed, active participants in our democratic society.

Teaching Strategies These are some strategies in teaching government in the classroom: Mock Election : This activity gives an insight and understanding of students on understanding the government's structure, functions, and processes enables them to participate effectively in the democratic process as they grow older. Procedure in doing this activity Divide the class into two groups. Each group should have a parties that composed of President down to Senator. In doing this activity, it needs to be divided into two sessions. During the first session, each candidate is required to deliver a speech and present their program or platform in front of the class. They will be allotted 5 minutes for their presentation. After the speech of each candidate, the students will free to ask questions. For the second session, during the election day have a students vote on a ballot identical to the official ballot, allowing them to become part of culture of voting as a habit. Fifteen students will be able to cast their votes inside the classroom. Following the vote, the results will be tallied, and the winners will be declared.
