General Methods of Teaching Unit#01 Philosophy Of TEACHING Senior Lecturer: Nargis S hamim

T eaching  is a process where systematic methods are used to transmit knowledge into someone. Teachers employ methods to enable students to learn effectively. T eaching is the practice implemented by a teacher aimed at transmitting skills (knowledge, know-how, and interpersonal skills) to a learner, a student, or any other audience in the context of an educational institution. Teaching is closely related to learning, the student's activity of appropriating this knowledge . T eaching methods vary greatly depending on the subject matter, the age group of students, the learning objectives, and the preferences of both the educator and the learners.

Lecture Based Demonstration Discussion Group work Hands-on activities Questioning Problem-based learning Flipped classroom Peer teaching Technology integration Differentiated instruction Experiential learning Effective Teaching often involves a combination of these methods, tailored to the specific needs and preferences of both the teacher and the students. Flexibility and creativity are key in selecting and implementing teaching strategies .

" Teaching is more than imparting knowledge; it is an inspiring change. Learning is more than absorbing facts; it is acquiring understanding .“ — William Arthur Ward Teachers are the backbone of a nation, responsible for shaping the future of the country. Teachers are called as educators, mentors, instructors etc . No matter what they are called, we can all agree that they truly have a gift for influencing lives inside and outside of their classroom Like a potter molding soft clay, teachers have the power to shape the minds and characters of their students. They are akin to farmers who sow the seeds of knowledge and life lessons, nurturing them to produce the best version of their students. It is the duty of teachers to instill moral values, etiquette, and a sense of responsibility in order to raise good citizens.
