CLASSROOM RULLES Mute your phone during class hour. Actively Participate in the class. Raise your right hand if you want to answer Listen when other is talking. Be respectful and always follow the directions.
1. What you have learn in the video presentation? 2. How heart pumps blood? 3. Why is it circulatory is important in human body?
LET'S LEARN ABOUT CIRCULATORY SYSTEM
Learning Objectives At the end of the lesson, the student should be able to: 1. Explain the function of the circulatory system. 2. Describe the parts and function of the heart. 3. Compare flow of systematic, pulmonary and coronary circulation.
4. Illustrate how the organs work together in circulation. 5. Appreciate the importance of circulatory of the human body.
ACTIVITY: Pump it
Activity: Direction: With the same groups the teacher will give a material and procedure for the activity. Each group must have one representative to answer the given questions after the activity based on their observation.
Materials: 1 beaker or wide mouthed jar 1 balloon 2 flexible drinking straws 1 pair of scissors
LET'S LEARN ABOUT CIRCULATORY SYSTEM Heart Blood Blood Vessels
WHAT IS CIRCULATORY SYSTEM? The circulatory system is the life support structure that nourishes your cells with nutrients from the food you eat and oxygen from the air you breathe
WHAT IS CIRCULATORY SYSTEM? The role of the circulatory system is to move nutrients, hormones, oxygen and other gases to your body's organs, muscles and tissues, to use for energy, growth and repair. Heart disease, stroke and high or low blood pressure, are common circulatory system conditions.
2 3 Heart Blood Vesels Blood 1 THREE MAJOR PARTS OF THE CIRCULATORY SYSTEM
1 remainder HEART is to pump blood and oxygen around the body and deliver waste products (carbon dioxide) back to the lungs to be removed.
remainder FOUR CHAMBERS OF THE HEART Right atrium - Your right atrium kicks off the action by taking in all the oxygen-poor (deoxygenated) blood from your body. Blood enters through two large veins called your superior vena cava and your inferior vena cava.
remainder FOUR CHAMBERS OF THE HEART 2. Left atrium - receives oxygenated blood from the four pulmonary veins, and pumps it through the left atrioventricular orifice (guarded by the mitral valve) into the left ventricle
remainder FOUR CHAMBERS OF THE HEART 3. Right ventricle - receives deoxygenated blood from the right atrium, and pumps it through the pulmonary orifice (guarded by the pulmonary valve), into the pulmonary artery.
remainder FOUR CHAMBERS OF THE HEART 4. Left ventricle - receives oxygenated blood from the left atrium, and pumps it through the aortic orifice (guarded by the aortic valve) into the aorta
BLOOD VESSELS –carries the blood throughout the body. 3 main types Arteries Veins Capillaries
ARTERIES - carry oxygenated blood away from the heart to the cells, tissues and organs of the body.
VEINS - carry deoxygenated blood to the heart.
CAPILLARIES -the smallest blood vessels in the body, connecting the smallest arteries to the smallest veins the actual site where gases and nutrients are exchanged.
remainder BLOOD carries the materials throughout the body
remainder Blood is composed of various components red blood cells white blood cell platelets plasma.
remainder Blood is composed of various components Red blood cells - also known as erythrocytes, are responsible for carrying oxygen from the lungs to the body's tissues and organs.
remainder Blood is composed of various components White blood cells , or leukocytes - are an essential part of the immune system. They help defend the body against infections and foreign substances.
remainder Blood is composed of various components Platelets- are small cell fragments that play a crucial role in blood clotting.
Blood is composed of various components Plasma - is the liquid component of blood, making up about 55% of its volume. It is a yellowish fluid that carries various substances, including nutrients, hormones, waste products, and antibodies.
TYPE OF CIRCULATION
1. PULMONARY CIRCULATION - Movement of blood from the heart to the lungs, and back to the heart.
2. CORONARY CIRCULATION - Movement of blood from the heart to the rest of the body, excluding the lungs.
3. SYSTEMIC CIRCULATION - Movement of blood from the heart to the rest of the body, excluding the lungs.
