What is Flourishing? Refers to a state of well-being and fullfilment that goes beyond simple happiness, encompassing the realization of one’s full potential and living a meaning life.
Chunk 2: Pondering Pair! How can you differentiate being happy from flourishing?
Determine if they are flourishing and just simply happy Scenario 1: Ana receives a surprise perfect score in her quiz after cramming the night before. She feels ecstatic and celebrate with friends.

Flourishing vs Hapiness Flourishing - A state of well-being and fulfillment that goes beyond simple happiness, encompassing the realization of one’s full potential and living a meaningful life. It is a long-term growth, meaning, and well-being. It also involves the disciplined pursuit of knowledge, the development of one’s inner character, and the active participation in the well-being of others. It is both a personal and communal journey toward excellence, meaning, and virtue.
Flourishing vs Hapiness Happiness- is a temporary emotional state of pleasure, joy, or contentment than often comes from satisfying desires or experiencing positive events.
Chunk 3: Abstracting Nature of Human Flourishing With the given scenarios on the previous activity, the students will be asked to abstract/extract the nature from the experiences of human flourishing.
